Hello, everyone,

My kids and grandkids are coming to TV this Monday. We have been confirmed at The Suites at Americano Beach since March 20th and find out just yesterday that they actually never booked them. We're now told we have no place to stay for check in Friday with check out Monday the 16th-20th.

Any other places that any of you fine people might know of that you would recommend?

Any and ALL ideas are welcomed.

Thanks in advance.

Ted

Go there at least twice a year, and next trip is this Tuesday. Great pool and terrific ocean beach.

Timeshare condos in Daytona often have rental units. I own units in two different ones.

I recommend Marine Terrace, 1018 N. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach. The units facing the beach have two bedrooms and sleep six since the very large living room has a sofa bed. The balcony wraps around from the center of the front to half way down one side. If you get the 4th floor or above there is no obstruction of the view up and down the beach. Full kitchen. Reserved parking spot in the basement. Private stairs from the pool deck to the beach.

Large swimming pool. Separate spa. Outdoor picnic area. Outside grilles. Shuffleboard. They used to have a game room. I never used it so don't know if it is still there. Short drive to the largest shopping center on the beach side, and lots of restaurants.

This was one of the first timeshare condos in Daytona to be built for the purpose. Earlier units were actually conversions of motels.

-------------------------

Alternative would be Ocean East, a couple of miles north of Marine Terrace and technically in Ormond Beach, but it's the same beach. This was a conversion of a motel. They have done an outstanding job of keeping it upgraded. Because of the shape of the building, most rooms look directly out at the beach and the ocean, but you can't see up and down the beach from the balcony. The rooms that let you see up and down the beach are tiny one bedroom units.

They have some rooms that have Murphy beds, that swing down from the wall. They are terrible!

Nice pool, nice spa, private stairs down to beach.

As you drive the length of North Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach you will probably see lots of signs advertising units for rent in time share condos.

------------------------------------

Motels that are on the side of the street away from the beach are in the main very old motels with few or no amenities. I know of none that I would recommend.

As noted above we MAY have had an acceptable resolution to our above dilemma, but will keep this information for future consideration.

Thank you both very much and take care.

Have stayed here many times.

Bahama House (Daytona Beach, FL) - June 2016 Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor (https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g34172-d84317-Reviews-Bahama_House-Daytona_Beach_Florida.html#REVIEWS)

Great ocean front balconies, not too big and a nice little boutique hotel at very reasonable prices.
