Hi, I'm Maggie and I just retired from the State Department Foreign Service on 31 December 2015. I moved into the Village of Del Mar on 4 March. Believe it or not, I'm still trying to get settled in. I've had two shipments of household goods arrive (150-180 boxes each) from U.S. and Canada. I have one more to arrive later this month from Belgium. I've had one yard sale already and will have another one next month. I can't wait until I find a place for everything and have everything in its place!

:welcome: to TOTV.
My advice is to not kill yourself by doing everything in a short time. Spent time to enjoy the day and you will feel better.
Congrats. Best wishes as you start living the dream.

Welcome. I applied for that a few times but never heard back.
I hope you enjoy the Villages. And many people seem to do a lot of travelling.

Hi Welcome to the Villages. I moved here in 2012 full time to care for my parents.
What I did was I unpacked boxes that I must have. The remainder I went thru at
a VERY slow pace. After 2 years I started donating the "stuff". I figured if I didn't
need it in 2 years- there must be someone who does. Its still a work in progress.
Enjoy your next chapter. ConnieNonnie

Welcome to your new home !
It `s very hard to unpack everything . Suggest you try to break it down and take a day off every couple of days .
Also there is a woman who advertises in the Daily Sun that she offers Organizing Services . Might be worth considering .
