Mrs. Opusx1 was going to yoga class this morning in the golf cart when she had to dodge a red car, a ford she thought, heading north on the trail between Bridgeport and Palmer legends. Any one else see it?

Did not see that one but about six months ago I was traveling down the trail next to Buena Vista heading towards Liberty Park when I spotted wide head lights coming up fast behind me. It was dark and I thought I better get off the trail and wait to see what was coming. Suddenly a black Mercedes past me going about 30 MPH. He went past me and continued around the split in the trail path, around the curve at Liberty Park entrance, drove into the street and went on its merry way.

A few days ago while coming back from Doggie Doo Run Run, I saw a van turn from the Villages High School into oncoming traffic onto Belvedere towards the intersection of CR466 and Belvedere.

Hope that lady was not drunk at 11:45 a.m. in the morning. Maybe, she is just off the plane from England. Except that she turned into oncoming traffice one of which was the van I was driving.

I'm surprised that you are surprised to see this. Been here four years. I saw a car go through the tunnel under CR 466 near the high school about three years ago. I see cars on golf cart paths at least once a month. I see golf carts driving down roads where they aren't supposed to be. I once came upon a golf cart on CR 466 going the wrong direction in my lane. It's amazing that there aren't many accidents when these things happen. The Villages provides a brochure that tells us how to be safe in carts, stating that golf carts should yield to automobliles in ALL cases. I agree. Even in cases where the golf cart driver is right, being in the right isn't going to lessen the serious damage that SUV will do to cart and driver.
