The RC Sailing club at the Charlotte Pond was directed to remove its bouys from the Pond this week. One of our neighbors protested her sullied view of the bouys on the pond to the Village Recreation Director stating she paid a premium for a pond view and it didn't include bouys. We tried to appease using duck decoys but to no avail. It only takes one voice of dissent. There is no appeal. There is no arbitration. There is no meeting the complainant to resolve or discuss.
Thanks to all our neighbors who voiced their approval and support of our a time at the pond.

That is sad. How long had the buoy's been there? When did she buy the house?
Is there public record of this case?

ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!
Some people are bored and have nothing to do but complain.
Unfortunately they take the fun away from other people!

There are much worse things going on in the world than her view of a few buoys....sad.

From what I can tell, that is why many people like living in TV. Based on their experiences in other developments controlled by a HOA, the members of the HOA fight about everything and even end up suing each other, to the eventual detriment of the overall community.
In TV, we have an authority that makes and interprets the rules and we follow their decisions. Simple as that.

Whoa, that's easy to say with out knowing the facts. I don't think somebody sneaked out there in the middle of the night and planted them buoys. I want to know more.

How assinine that the rec dept., or whoever made the final decision, would let one person bring down something that's been sanctioned for at least the five years we've been living here and driving by there three times a week. Where is the common sense?
I didn't realize paying for a view of the pond meant you own what goes on in the pond. If that's the case, the people around the pond on Pimlico should have footed the repair bill for the sinkhole.

I will use responsible Tal's calm and intelligent attitude of waiting to see just exactly what happened and why.
I am not generally calm or intelligent, but we may be missing some information. They are still sailing on Northern ponds, aren't they?

Why should a group be able to claim the pond for their special use? The boaters can still use the pond to sail their boats. They just can't leave buoys permanently in the pond. That's like saying your neighbor should be able to leave a basketball net out in the driveway because he likes to shoot hoops daily. Simply clean up and leave the pond in the condition you found it when you are finished with your activity.

I enjoy watching the boats and personally have no objection to the unobtrusive buoys floating in any of our ponds, but I also agree that the above statement has merit. I guess the whole problem is not much different from the hysteria that erupts South of Hwy. 466 when someone dares to put out a lawn ornament:cus:

Do the boats have to have buoys in the pond ?
Yes. They're marks for the boats to round when they race.

We started with permission of the Rec Dept 2 years ago. Yes, we can sail on the northern ponds but...why not the Charlotte pond?

Hey have we found the infamous crybaby that walked the neighborhoods and turned people in for the slightest infraction?

I like the duck decoy idea. Put them out there some night and who is to know any better. Ms whiny could call a complaint but about ducks?

But at some point in time, decisions like this will be turned over to the Dist Commisiioners/representatives or their designee. The "authority" will be us. This is my understanding of our CDD form of government.

Personally I find the collection of blue dog poop bags in the hedge surrounding the transformer to be more objectionable.
