Please tell me the need for assault rifles besides mass murder. I use mine for hunting hogs, coyotes, and prairie dog shooting. The AR10 and AR15 are terrific firearms with regard to reliability and serviceability in the field. They are affordable (I can put together an AR15 for about $600). If you hunt different species, you can just purchase additional "uppers" for about $220 (barrels and top half of the receiver assemblies) and change calibers just by removing two pins by hand. A conventional semiauto rifle costs $800 or more each (my Browning "BAR" was $1200 and was only chambered in one caliber)

So there goes your theory that if he had to pull the trigger 50 times someone would have had a chance to stop him. If the victims would have been carrying, they would be legally required to leave their weapons in their cars if they were entering a bar. So this nut job picked a good place to act crazy. Too bad, one of them might have been a "pink pistol" member and could have stopped the terrorist prior to 50 people being killed...but it was illegal to conceal carry in a bar. If we take all the guns away, the terrorist could drive an RV thru the gay pride parade and kill 50 people in the blink of an eye, or he could plant a pressure cooker filled with explosives next to a marathon route. It is not the gun that made the guy a nutjob.
