Announcing the 2nd Annual Freeze in The Villages!
Due to scheduling conflicts the time and date have been changed. We will now be Freezing to Rocky and the Roller's, at (see below)
Almost a year ago in April, of 2008 we held the 1st Annual Freeze in TV. There were about 30+/- people that showed up for what turned out to be a really fun, friend making, event. Some of us knew each other and some of us didn't, but we were all friends at the end.
Come and join us this year, make new friends, and laugh with the people you already know. Everyone is welcome and invited to join in the fun.
Date: Feb. 17th, 2009
Time: 5:15pm
Where: The clock at Lake Sumter Landing
Meeting at 5:15 allows us to walk onto the Square together... the actual Freeze will begin at 5:30pm sharp.
All participants will freeze when they hear the horn/whistle that I will blow at 5:30pm.
Participants will hold their chosen position for 4 minutes (we went for 3 minutes last year, so we will up it by 1 minute this year....because we can!)
At the end of the 4 minutes, I will blow the horn/whistle again and we will all dance to the music, walk, talk, move, whatever.
It's simple, it's fun. The hardest thing is not laughing during the actual Freeze part!
Now here is the twist. Creative poses would be fun. Perhaps you will freeze in a kissing pose, like our famed couple from last year, Shirleevee and her Hubby. Maybe you will hold a big heart. Maybe you will come in costume, whatever clever idea you can come up with is great. Simply holding still is enough.
Hope you will join in the fun.
See you there!

Hi Just Susan,
Count us in again.
Thanks for planning this for all of us.
Bright - I hear you have Dutch Elm Disease, is that true? The freeze is the only cure known to man!

I am so sorry to hear about Brightspot's Dutch Elm disease and happy to know that THE FREEZE will cure it. (Does anyone know how she got it?) I had a little episode of Dropsy last week and wonder if THE FREEZE would alleviate the symptoms?

Susan...thanks for organizing this fun event again. Last year I wasn't here for the "Freeze," but the video looked like a wonderfully zany, loony, time was had by all, and I am so happy to be here to participate this year. I will be there with icycles on...hmmmm...not a bad idea. Thanks again for organizing the "Freeze." :pepper2::laugh:

Last year was so much fun. Chachacha was visiting TV and I walked up to her and told her what we were doing and asked her to join in. She was such a great sport and froze with us. We had a wonderful time.

Another freeze.... well count me in. We had such a fantastic time last year.....
Sam and I will talk the hubs into joining us this year.
I'll be there with HEARTS on!!!!!!!!!
Most of us will be out to dinner treating out loved ones for Valentine's Day. The squares were nearly empty last year at this time.
I could think of many other dates where you'd get a much better turn-out.

We will be there for sure! With bells on. Or hearts on. Oh, just thought of something .. Fireboy has a bow and arrow, perhaps I can persuade him to dress up like Cupid. LOL.

We've been "FREEZING " in NJ for 2 months now! 2 more to go....
Could you do a Spring "Thaw" for those of us wishing we were there??? Have fun guys. Wish were there to do it with you all! We watched it last year. It was hysterical.

My Dutch Elm disease won't be cured by then sorry to say. And...I certainly wouldn't want to pass it on to my hubby and his buddy who will be in TV at that time and participating in the FREEZE! How horrible if I passed it on to them at a time they planned a week getaway by themselves.
For those of you who missed The FREEZE last year...here is a video replay. Enjoy!

I agree with Skip, I wrote to Just Susan that there are a few parties happening on that day and perhaps we should/or could make it another day. I would love to be a part of it but we have our neighborhood "LOWER" Heavenly Hadley block party that night. Do ya think we could pick another day??? PLEASSSEEEEEE! I wanna be a part of it.

I'm with you Kathie. I would love to attend but have plans that evening. Additionally, there's just a DJ at the square that night and the impact might not be as great as on a Rocky and The Rollers night (2/17).

You don't need a date to FREEZE, Kathie. Dancing is optional.
We will have fun though. I am so glad you will be joining us. With all your influence I'm sure you will be bringing quite a crowd with you. Yay!:coolsmiley:

I am very depressed. I can't take time off work to be there for this wonderful 2nd annual event.
My hubby will...along with a buddy (You know, a male bonding week).
Knowing my hubs is leaving for TV in the morning has not made for a good week for me. I'm narly and I"m sure my 3rd graders are going home every day saying..."My teacher isn't in the best of moods this week."
The Freeze is a wonderful time to meet new people (and meet up with those you already know) and to shock the heck out of all others at LSL.
Please go if you can...you will have wonderful memories!

I know there's a big singles group, so I'm giving a shout out to them to come and join The Freeze!
We were in it last year and it was really, really fun! Met lots of people we've become very good friends with and a good time was had by all.
Come one, come all. We need lots of people because Rocky and the Rollers will be playing, so it will be crowed and we need to cluster and Freeze near each other to make a big impact.
All are welcome. :welcome:

I remember looking at the tape of the Freeze last year and seeing the organization of it wherein I saw Just Susan for the first time and wondered if she was a CEO of something. Well she was/is I have since found out, and although she doesn't live here YET, she is returning to once again organize, direct and giggle us through the FREEZE once again. I have thought and thought of something to properly thank her for directing us through all this silliness and I can't come up with anything.

Of course, Bob, your granddaughters are welcome to join in! Everyone is welcome and the more the merrier. Your girls will go home with something to talk about because this is an event to remember! You need to join in, too. Your granddaughters would be so excited to have grandpa involved.
I was there for the first Freeze and am so sad I won't be able to make it to this one. At least my hubby will be there so I will live vicariously through the webcam and through his details after the event.
JUST SUSAN...I am so happy you are back in The Villages and are able to be hostess to the 2nd Annual Freeze event! I miss you and am looking forward to the time we can get together again.

Here's a fun idea. Everyone knows each other here by our TOTV names so why don't we all take a a"big enough" piece of folded plain paper and put our TOTV name on it, large enough so people can read it from a distance and pin it to our back with four safety pins. Then we know who to holler at and to hug?? I am so looking forward to this.
There are people I KNOW that are in town and many of us haven't met them. I know Coconuts and hubs are here, and Barb, and Fumar, and rshoffer, and ......just bunches. Please come and put a sign on yourself.
Remember to hug Just Susan really hard for her original idea and continued direction.

Oh what a great idea! A block party! The "Almost All The Peeps" whether invited or not will be there. Do we need special Tshirts and wristbands to get in? Is The Villages not a great place to live! Thanks TOTV for making this all possible!

Sorry to have to be the one to ask .... but WHERE is the clock in LSL? I have never noticed it. I guess one just loses track of worrying about what time it is here!

THE FREEZE is over and was a big success! There was a huge crowd due to Rocky and the Rollers playing.
Getting feedback from my hubby, who was a participant, says that it was a very noticeable event and went off without a hitch!
A friend of ours took a video and Mr. Bright will post it to YouTube as soon as he can....hopefully later tonight. I will send a link as soon as I can.

Great fun. So nice to see everyone again after being gone for a while. So, directly from the airport to LSL with suitcases in car and just made it in time. Good job all. Great pics - thanks.

It is hard to imagine that a year ago we all hardly knew each other. It is just great to be able to go to LSL and see so many familiar faces.
Next event .... Crispers on Friday for lunch ... 3 PM!

Hi, Hyacinth. We are ex Brits and move to Buttonwood Run in Pennecamp in May. Are you British. Hope to hear from you as we too are fans of the Bucket Family. Does Onslo know you are speaking with strangers? :)
