Run Time Errors?

:grumpy:I've been getting run time errors. Can I fix these for free? Little skeptical to d/load supposedly any fix. Got a suggestion?

I'll help out as much as I can through the forum.

Do they say anything about a particular program or file?
Or do they happen when you only run a particular program?

Run Time Error 1. This time it occurred when i signed back on AOL.

Ok, So I assume that it happens with different programs as well? also, is there anything else in the error message? a bunch of letters and numbers, or maybe a filename?

Ok, the most likeley cause of this problem is a corrupt registry key.
I have a registry repair utility. Free registry cleaner (http://www.midstatepc.net/whmcs/dl.php?type=d&id=1) Download and install it.
First thing to do after opening it is to click on "options" ,
then click the checkbox for "Create a system restore point before repairing errors(XP, Vista)",
click OK,
then click on "full scan"
once the scan completes, click on "Fix Errors".

I've already checked this program out on one of my computers and it truly is free, doesnt require you to register, and actually says what it does.

Afterwards, restart your computer and see if the run time error shows up again. If it does, we move on to the next thing.

D/L and it found 1599 errors. Fixed errors. Shut down puter all the way, fired back up. Run Time Error 1. :cus:

Ok, the next thing.
Open IE,
go to Tools,
select Internet Options,
go to the Advanced tab,
make sure there is a check next to "Disable script debugging"
and there is NO check next to "Display a notification about every script error."

This is not a "true" fix, but it should keep the error from showing up.

I have a hunch that it's java. you could try updating your version of java by going to http://www.java.com and following their instructions for updating java.

TAH DAH !!!!! May not be a true fix but the :cus: thing sure was annoying. It's doesn't show up anymore.
