I am getting estimates for a lanai conversion. I was just told by a competitor that K&B Construction is having financial problems. I don't know whether to believe the competitor, but I don't want to get into a mess with incomplete work either.

Has anyone heard about this situation?

I hired Brian Terry Vinyl for a 16 x 26 screen room (lanai with roof) when I owned a courtyard villa and to enclose my current lanai w/windows and air/heat, raise the floor, etc., plus add an 8 x 20 Pergola to my patio. All three times I had a great experience. The company prices extremely competitively and their work is thorough. I never had a problem with follow-up. I experienced a leak in my screen room after one year and they returned and repaired it.

Do your "Due Diligence" - check with the BBB (online), check with the Florida Division of Consumer Services (again online), and check with Seniors Vs Crime (352-689-4600, X4606). You'll be glad you did.

KB Construction has filed for bankruptcy. Not sure what chapter, but the competitor is correct.
