Does anyone go to a Dr. who specializes in Bio-identical hormones. I'm trying to find one who is recommended by someone who goes to one.

Have you done a search for previous threads?
I remember reading a thread on this topic; but the information may not be current.

Here is what the Mayo Clinic has to say about the subject;

I go to Dr Desai, but am not impressed with her at all!! Been looking for someone else for a long time, but there just doesn't seem to be anyone in TV who prescribes them. There is a gal in Mt Dora by the name of Joanne Keller, haven't gone to her though. Hoping someone else can chime in with a referral.

Dr. Beams at the Wellness Clinic beside WinnDixie at LSL. I'm not sure if it is 910 Canal St but if you turn into WD, just before you get to the store turn right. It's the first office section of the first building there. Bio-Identical...is his specialty.

Is that Rose Wellness Center? Isn't he a Chiropractor? Can't seem to find anything on a Dr. Beam? Do you have anymore info??

I always wondered about bioidentical hormones but never researched the topic; thanks for the Mayo Clinic link. There is an interesting final comment from Dr. Shannon Laughlin-Tommaso, M.D. re the effectiveness of bioidentical hormones.

Being a breast cancer survivor, I am well aware of the risks and the warnings. It is difficult to find someone to prescribe them because they are dangerous.

Yes it is Rose Wellness Clinic, Dr. Beams spends part time there and part time in Tampa. Besides the chiropractor there is also another M.D. And a physical therapist, all are very good with up to date equipment etc. They have an impressive interdisciplinary practice.

You are so right GRACIE, don't know why anyone would risk their health taking hormones to try to stop the hands of time. Just eat right, exercise and use Clairol, works for me.

I have been going to Dr. Kalpana Desai for 2 years now for bioidentical hormones and have been very pleased. She does blood testing twice a year for me and is always concerned and questioning at my visits. I would never think of changing doctors, and my husband even sees her too!

I go to Dr. Douglas Moffett - Been getting bio identical for about 1 1/2 years. He's also my gyno and he is great!
