He should have been out of office in 2012. I believe Hillary will win easily in 2016. The reason for both of these is America's addiction to deficiet spending. Americans love something for nothing, all Americans. It drives crime as well as politics. We are a people willing to sell our grandchildren's futures to maintain a standard of living. There can be no community in the U.S. more dependent on deficiet spending than our own Villages yet there seems to be very little concern or push back. A recent news story again claimed S.S. Trust fund was good until 2034. Damn it people there are no assets. Americans are deadbeats according to to Webster's dictionary. There I feel better.

The SS money was taken, used for other things, and an IOU was left in it's place. PLUS they're borrowing like there's no tomorrow.
We're doomed financially.
We're also doomed demographically as whites are being replaced as the majority by mostly hispanics.

Yes, there are. More than half get SOME form of government benefit. The numbers getting benefits grows daily.

Those 56% were all democrats.
The percentage of U.S. adults identifying as political independents has recently reached levels never seen before. As a result, a new low of 29% of Americans identify as Democrats, and the percentage of Republican identifiers is on the low end of what Gallup has measured historically.Jan 11, 2016

Are you kidding? I can tell by the way you write that you are either a female or gay. Do you really want to trade insults? Because, believe me you will go away crying like a little girl. Either grow up and discuss these issues like an adult or just go away crying. Your choice.
And yes, I DID pay for my own education, as if that means anything to anyone. It doesn't. But, can you say that? Nooo. And I did it while supporting a family of four children. And yes, I am proud of it. Self-reliance is something that one should be proud of. The gov didn't build it, regardless of our Affirmative Action president's lies.

Technically...yes. Someone else did the labor for the "benefits" you received for "free".
You're SUPPOSED to "pay it forward" by being a good, productive citizen repaying it to society tenfold. That's the original intent of scholarships.

I did.
The purpose of the academic scholarship is to recruit the best and the brightest. This raises the academic bar for the institution causing demand for future potential students. When demand exceeds supply the tuition goes up. Academic scholarships reward the institution 10 fold. It's a business.
Why do they give athletic scholarships? I let you figure that one out.

Officially the Servicemen’s Readjustment Act of 1944, the G.I. Bill was created to help veterans of World War II. It established hospitals, made low-interest mortgages available and granted stipends covering tuition and expenses for veterans attending college or trade schools. From 1944 to 1949, nearly 9 million veterans received close to $4 billion from the bill’s unemployment compensation program. The education and training provisions existed until 1956, while the Veterans’ Administration offered insured loans until 1962. The Readjustment Benefits Act of 1966 extended these benefits to all veterans of the armed forces, including those who had served during peacetime. G.I. Bill - World War II - HISTORY.com (http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/gi-bill)
That's affirmative action too. God Bless America. These men didn't do it on their own. That's the teamwork Obama is talking about.
How much was your tuition and what year did you graduate? What college did you attend and I'll tell you what the tuition is today. Let's compare apples to apples.
The government [that's us] steadily lowered their contribution to colleges. It's a downward cycle that started 35 years ago. What makes it even more difficult for young people is that now 1 out of 3 have a BA or BS. That's what's needed for an entry level position.
My modest salary the first year out of college was enough to pay for the previous 4 years in college if I had to. Who can say that today?

That WAS the purpose. Now it's a way to beg for money when you probably have no business being there.
The tuition goes up when the government makes $trillions available via easy money. Yes, too many "students" with money to spend makes tuition go up.
But it shouldn't a Harvard who gets just 1% of it's income from tuition.
Athletics is where the money and prestige is.
Isn't a football coach the highest paid in "academia"?

That was the only way to fight quotas and affirmative action. How to keep from having to carry all that dead wood. Make all the jobs require advanced degrees. Even WITH quotas and affirmative action on;y a VERY small percent of minorities can complete them, and those who do, are the cream of the crop and can usually handle the work.

Sorry to put it to you like this after all that writing you just did, but none of that pertains to me. I really DID pay my own way. I went to night school to get my college education and paid cash for my tuition and books. I also put three of my four children through private school. No, I never had a new car in 20+ years, but it was worth it.
If you want to compare costs for an education then with now, you also need to consider inflation, etc.
No, the government did not do it for me. Some of us r4eally did build it ourselves. Unfortunately, liberals will never understand because they do not appreciate self-reliance. They need the government

I divided my State School University tuition [only] by the minimum wage in 1970.
It was $350 per year / $1.60 = 220 hours of work at minimum wage
Today it is $9,260 per year/ $8.60 = 1,076 hours work at minimum wage
When I was in college I could work 16 hours a day--same as you.
I could put together my tuition in 14 weeks for freshman year only.
Today it would take my imaginary granddaughter 63 weeks for freshman year only.
Run the numbers for your school.
You and I did it because it was easy and doable, not because we're smarter or worked harder. Sorry for the bad news, but if you're a boomer like me you got lucky where and when you were born.
And when we graduated we were close to the top of the hill because a much smaller percentage had a BA or BS.
[the truth is i only worked min wage when i was 16. by the time i was 17 my dad taught me construction, electrical work and how to fix up cars and flip them. he didn't make it past 8th grade but was smart, hustled and taught me most of what i know. i think about him a lot.]
these times are very different.
[and i had an academic scholarship]
i had fun when i wasn't working

Your comparing the G.I. Bill to Affirmative Action is ludicrous. One group put their lives on the line to defend their country and the other group risked NOTHING. And to you, both groups deserve equal consideration? Only in a fool's world. But, what would you know about putting you life on the line for your country?
Oh, and your statement about Obama's "teamwork" is just a more of the typical "feel good", "take the credit" for someone else's success liberal speak your ilk is known for!

And, you are just another condescending liberal that feels entitled to take the credit for everyone else's success. If you think that you (liberals) are somehow responsible for the success of others, why do you not feel responsible for the failure of others as well?

The reason the kids today need a BA/BS degree for entry level is because their degree is equivalent to one of our High School diplomas. When today's college graduate can't even write a coherent sentence or do simple math, there is something radically wrong with the education system. Today's basic liberal arts degree does nothing that a decent HS education should be able to give you. And the jobs they perform do not need it anyway.

Condescending? Is there a word for people who feel superior to people who insult and look down on others?
Isaac Newton said "If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants." That's how I feel. Newton didn't say--"I'm a self made man who amoung other things invented the reflecting telescope with nobody helping me out at all. In fact I'm probably the best telescope maker who ever lived."
I do feel responsible for the failures of others.
I still think the GI Bill is an example of the government trying to pay back the military but it's not affirmative action. I was wrong about that.
affirmative action
an action or policy favoring those who tend to suffer from discrimination, especially in relation to employment or education; positive discrimination.
And I still think we all get help. That doesn't make us helpless if we also help others.

The definition of self made is something that is made by oneself or someone who has become successful through his own efforts. millions.
Notice that the definition does not reference Liberals, Obama, or their social programs.

In my case, I am a self made man that thanks my wife for her support and GOD for giving me the ability. I also thank the Constitution for allowing me the Freedom and Liberty to be what I can, within my physical and mental limits. I don't thank our government because they are supposed to be working for me and I am supposed to be their boss. They are public servants, like it or not. It's a shame that they have allowed some self-perceived status to make them think that they deserve to be in control of our lives.
And I do NOT approve of Obama's job performance and he is not a good example of what America should have as a president. And our country has survived for the past seven years in spite of his efforts to thwart it.

I told my kids in high school to prepare for college but also take the Cisco Networking Courses the high school offered and pass the CNA exam. This way you have options. They did not pass the exam but took the courses, became engineers and they are the gurus at work.
Maybe Trump is overlooking his best idea to make America Great Again, The Apprentice Concept.
After the eighth grade kids should shadow an adult for 1 year. It could be an adult with bedpan duty or a surgeon, a HVAC helper or the librarian's assistant. And when they start high school they will not waste so much time. They would see the light at the end of the tunnel and know the clock is ticking.
You couldn't do that in our society. There would be all kinds of liabilities. That really requires an open mind and less government regulations.
But isn't that how children used to learn? And if you go in a lot of mom and pop shops it still goes on. Losing the mom and pop shops is the hurt that keeps on hurting.

And WHY is that? Because education has been dumbed down so the dark minorities can "compete". We dropped from #1 in the world to #17 because of quotas, affirmative action, and dumbing down standards so they could get in. It's "racist" to have standards they can't attain. So we lowered them.
MOST jobs don't need a degree. It's required to weed out the minorities who even with all the free school and lowered standards, usually don't make it to graduation.

It would end up being racist as nobody would want to mentor the black kids. After a while we'd learn, like we have in the education system, that they're not up to snuff. They can't compete with the others. Lincoln said it...we're too different to ever live together.
Facts aren't racist and neither is the speaking of facts. If I made stuff up, it would be one thing, I don't, it's all facts. Facts we should all be aware of.

I don't care what people call me...I drive a Prius.
I have never seen an attractive person driving a Prius. Toyota must have a rule to only sell that car to ugly people. When someone ugly walks in the showroom the sales people probably throw blankets over all the other cars and usher the ugly person over to the Prius chanting "you will reduce global warming, you will reduce global warming". Hillary is definitely ugly enough to drive one..
As for Obamma - he sucks!

When someone ugly walks in the showroom the sales people probably throw blankets over all the other cars and usher the ugly person over to the Prius chanting "you will reduce global warming, you will reduce global warming". Hillary is definitely ugly enough to drive one..
As for Obamma - he sucks!
That's pretty funny!

What about your teachers? Were you home schooled?
If one is "home schooled" what about those teachers?

As someone said, it was very well done, it is one thing that we elected such a loser, but the sad part is we have a huge electorate that does not know any better. Two of our good friends, several years ago, (moochers for sure) in a discussion, we tried very nicely to point out what they were inviting and they disowned us, yes, refused to talk to us, several years ago. Good Demos.

It's not an attack if it's true.

It would help if you used the "reply" button so that we would know who you are responding to. Did someone call you a "liar?" And, if so is it true or is that a lie and are you calling that person a liar for calling you one?

Oh, but they'll say it is. It's "hateful" to call someone out on their lie.

The "hate" word seems to be a popular fad of the left I don't believe I have used that word since I was a child. Of course, some folks just can't accept reality, therefore never mature.

Technically...yes. Someone else did the labor for the "benefits" you received for "free".
You're SUPPOSED to "pay it forward" by being a good, productive citizen repaying it to society tenfold. That's the original intent of scholarships.
Where did you read the above ? On Snopes.com ?

Teenage girls use the term " Hate " a great deal . As we know some people never do emotionally mature beyond their teen years .
