Parking on the street question

I have tried to do a search to get some parking questions answered with little luck.

What is the rule for parking on the street? I don't mean overnight but just for a couple of hours etc.

I see cars parked on both sides of the street facing the same way and for hours at a time and at night as well. I was told that if your driveway was empty then you could not park on the street at any time, is that true? Our neighbour made sure to tell us that the first day we were here and have not seen him since.

We are staying in a patio villa and it is on the curve so there is actually only about 6 feet of our yard between our driveway and the next one.

I do not think it is an issue. I give this information based on the fact that my next door neighbor in the village of Winifred (south of 466) has his car for sale and and parks it on the street and his driveway is empty. He did get a write up from the neighborhood watch but not for parking on the street. He got a pamphlet telling of the issue of having a for sale sign in his cars window.

Since he got a pamphlet warning about the sign but nothing about parking on the street, I assume it in not verboten.

Just a question about your neighbor's sign. Every car I've ever seen for sale by a private party has the sign in the window "For Sale". I don't understand, but where can he put it, on his radio atennae, bumper, et al??

i live in hemingway and our efficient neighborhood watch left a note on my guest's car when he left it parked on the street overnight. he had no for sale sign in it, either...i guess a few hours of company is ok on the street but not overnight unless your driveway is also occupied. i do not think we have parking spaces here as some neighborhoods have had in the past...that would be a help when one has a lot of company.

Courtyard villas have guest parking lots. They are very handy for out-of-town guests. (Most CYVs have only 1 1/2 garages).

Residents are not supposed to use the guest parking lots. Village Watch keeps track and issues warnings.

My understanding is that unless enough people complain and/or the vehicle is parked in a dangerous area (on a corner or just across from a corner) there is absolutely nothing you can do.

It does not matter if the covenants say no parking on the street. Ii takes the police to enforce it and they do not do village streets.

We have tried for quite a while to get some vehicles off of the street. The only one that I know of that was successful was leaking oil and damaging the asphalt.

Community Watch is not a police agency so they can't do anything about parking. If you got a warning from them for parking on a public street, use it for toilet paper. With just a few exceptions, TV streets are public streets and whatever parking rules that apply in the city (Lady Lake) or county (Lake, Marion or Sumter) are what applies in TV. Enforcement can only be done by the appropriate policing agency. Parking enforcement in TV has not yet hit the Top 10 List of priorities in any local police department that I know of.

I apprecite the input. In fact, on my street there is one car parked facing the correct direction and just a few feet down there is one on the other side of the road facing the same direction. You have to be very careful just trying to drive between them. That is crazy.. I was wondering if you do park on the street does that mean youor driveway must be occupied or is it alright to leave your car on the street while you use the golf cart for a few hours.

I see cars parked on the street all day and even some all night.

Question: If you live on the corner and have little space and is kind of dangerous anyway to park on the corner can you park in front of the next house? Does this person have any right to tell you not to park there?

Second question...I see some people parking with the entire car on the street and others with half the car on the grass. Other that the harm to the grass is it illegal to do that?
