Hello all,
My husband and I are spending 10 days here in TV in the Village of Poincietta. We are trying to make some final decisions on where to buy our retirement home here in TV. Last night, my husband:girlneener: left the lights on in our rented golf cart. Does anyone have any suggestions where we might be able to buy jumper cables nearby?
Thanks, Druann:o

Any auto parts store, or even walmart.

There are a couple of auto parts stores on 466 near Wal-Mart. They are all located west of BV.

You will also probably need a charger to charge the battery, not sure how effective the carts are at charging batteries when running around.

I have jumper cables and a battery charger. If you can wait until this afternoon, I will come over and help you get going. Let me know and I will send you a contact phone number.

If its an electric cart, jumpers won't help

You are looking at a fundamentally challenging operation. The battery is under the seat and once started the golf cart will begin to move with the jumper cables still attached. The engine will stop as soon as you take your foot off the gas to disconnect the jumper cables. You may need some period of continuous operation to charge the battery enough. This is probably not an entirely impossible operation if you are quick about disconnecting the jumper cables from your car and don't mind driving around a bit with them sticking out from below the seat but I really think you need to put a charger on the battery and forget about jumper cables.

Maybe a call to the golf cart rental company would be in order. I would think they would either put a charger on the battery, or exchange it with a charged battery. Hopefully you'll be carting around The Villages soon.

Excellent suggestion, wish I had mentioned that.

Put it neutral and put a brick on the pedal to keep it running. Should charge pretty quick.

There is a neutral? I never noticed - thanks for pointing that out!

On a Yamaha if you put the shifter halfway between forward and reverse it should be in neutral. The cart will roll freely back And forth. Be careful when doing this! It would be better to raise the rear end and chock the front wheels to be on the safe side.

I would just take the battery out go to auto zone have it tested and charged if I didn't have battery charger or if I know the battery good go to Walmart and by battery charger and charge it myself. If have no clue where the battery is call for service.
