driveway papers

Up north we usually have 3 free newspapers thrown in the driveway each week. I noticed that does not appear to happen in TVs and wondered how they were able to keep them out? Perhaps there just aren't any but with 75,000 people it would seem TVs would be a tempting target.

I agree but what I would like to know is whether TVs has some restriction or there just are none of these papers in the area?

The POA throws their rag onto your driveway every month (though normally in my Sago palms) with impunity, so there must be no restrictions.

Being well informed about where and how we live is almost a responsibility, if one receives the daily sun, then whats the difference what paper comes into one's driveway? Pick them up and read them........end of story.:agree::agree:

Perhaps it is the end of the story for you but if you saw what a community looked like that had at least 3 free papers, plus the ones residents actually subscribe to, tossed in the driveways each week you might get an idea of the concern. It also creates a risk for those not occupying their homes at that particular time as it acts as a giveaway that the home is empty. Apparently TVs does not have as many free papers as we do up north but who knows what happens in the future. Apparently from the response so far there is no actual restriction put on by TVs.

I don't know that anyone has the authority to stop publications thrown on one's driveway other than you.
In another life I put a stop to an advertisement that was being thrown on my lawn by phoning them and threatening to report them for throwing trash on my property. It worked!
I try to pick up for my absent neighbors. An advertisement, newspaper, or whatever, if not picked up, is an indication to a bad guy there is no one home.

The Villages does have a restriction on what newspapers can be delievered , The Daily Sun is owned by the same people who are building The Villages...

You may be right, but I get the Orlando Slantenal delivered in my Sego palms or grass every morning and that paper is at times virulently anti-Villages. If they were stopping papers, you'd think that would be one. The St. Pete's Times won't deliver here, not because they are prohibited but because it is not cost effective. I don't know if the Ocala paper delivers in TV. I read it a lot when I first moved here, but found it woefully lacking and have dropped it.

The POA paper is welcome at many homes. If it doesn't get picked up from a neighbor's driveway in a reasonable amount of time, be a good neighbor & take it in. You could also drop it on the neighbor's porch, if they're year-round occupants & perhaps away for a short time. If you don't want to read it & possibly learn something valuable about your community, simply drop it in with your recycling items.

Note, this all started with the question about free papers and having 3 free papers a week......that would be too much!
