Question about recreational pools

I've looked at the schedule for lap swimming at various recreational pools in TV. I noticed that lap swimming is usually scheduled to begin on the hour and end ten minutes before the next hour. Are the pools really that crowded that you have to vacate the pool? What if you arrive at a pool a little late, can you get a lane? Thanks so much for your replies.

Lap swimming and lanes are at the Sports Pools only. All of the family pools and the adult pools have no scheduled recreation and aren't supposed to be used for any planned activities. Sports Pools are at regional recreation centers only. Savannah, Laurel Manor, Colony, Lake Miona, Seabreeze, and Eisenhower are regional rec centers.

Did I forget any? Can someone tell us what the latest count of family and adult and sports pools is? It is amazing.

Each of the sport pools have designated blocks of time for lap swimming. Usually, early in the morning, for example, the pools are open for lap swimming for at least two hours. The swimmers usually line up at about 6:45 to get in line for swimming, and the doors open at 7. At the newer pools like Eisenhauer, the lanes are narrow so people don't share. The older pools like Mulberry and Laurel Manor have wider lanes, and you can generally find someone to split a lane if you can't get your own lane. Pools generally are crowded early in the morning, not so much later in the day this time of year when its so hot.

One reason for having to vacate at "ten before" is that, depending on what activity follows, the lane lines may have to be removed.

I swam at Seabreeze on Thursday afternoon and the water was uncomfortably warm. Should be a bit cooler early morning, or after some rain.

The sign I saw on a door of the Lake Miona pool about a week ago said closed through August 2nd.
