Do you renew each year?

Is it really necessary to renew each year? (I know it seems like an obvious answer, but just wonder what others do).

I have been shopping price and find there is a WIDE disparity depending on the provider.

I am guessing the price varies by size of the house/slab, but if you are inclined to say, I am curious how much you pay. This is for termite renewal protection only....not the periodic pest prevention.

Thanx in advance for responses to come.

BTK,

My house was built in 2006; Massey did the initial ground treatment for termites and I have used them for lawn/pest services since. When my one year anniversary came up, I really debated whether to pay for annual termite protection...and, decided to go ahead with it. Peace of mind, Florida reputation, etc I have a block/stucco house. They come out and inspect annually. I pay them $99/year.

Smart move, Villages07. It is cheap insurance in this termite favoring area of the country. And block/Stucco is not a barrier to the little critters.:agree:

Remember, we live on sandy soil for the most part, and damp, dark sandy places are magnets for termites. They can come up through the slightest crack in a slab, and they absolutely love sheetrock!:cus:

I have lived in Florida for over 20 years (on and Off) and I've happily paid for an annual "bond" for every house I have owned.

I was told by The Villages that they put termite protection on the wood in every house they build which lasts for 4 to 7 years. And that after that time it is necessary to buy termite protection.

A small price to pay for peace of mind.
