My hairdresser has a serious illness and is no longer working so I need to find someone new. I've waited too long and now I need to get in just for a haircut only. Does anyone know of someone who does a good job? My hair is straight mostly but want a few long layers. Mostly follow what is already here.

Most stylists at Urban Hair in Oxford come highly recommended.
Urban Hair is down the street from Bargains and Treasures.
Or try Victoria at Victoria Hair, east of Morse on CR 466.

I just went to Laura at Hair and Nail Creations on 301. She came highly recommended from Nextdoor.com, a villages site. I was skeptical because I've lived here 4 years and haven't found a good hair stylist yet. Well I finally found one! Laura came from NYC where she not only cut hair but taught others how to cut hair. She is fun, confident and has good communication with her clients. The cost for a wash, cut and blow dry for me (I have short hair) was 42.00+ tip. I really don't like Paying that price for my hair cuts but I will because Laura actually knows how to,cut hair. Plus, as a new client, they give you a packet with 20.00 off referral cards to distribute to others. So, if you come to my house before your hair cut, I will give you a coupon for 20.00 off your hair cut plus I will also get 20.00 off my next hair cut (the price of,your service must be 42.00 or more to get the 20.00 off). So you would be getting a hair cut for 22.00! I fnd that a bargain. They gave me about 5 cards to hand out so I have the potential of getting 20.00 off my next 5 hair cuts and you can too! I think there were about 4 stylists working there and they all looked very capable of cutting hair. If Laura isn't available, I wouldn't hesitate to try one of the other stylists.

I go to Urban Hair in Oxford. Ask for Josephine or Samantha. My hair was ruined a number of times when we first arrived. So, I was so happy to hear of Urban Hair!

The women's Salon at Cal's @ Spanish Springs gave my wife a haircut she was thrilled with. She had our daughter in law cutting her hair in NJ so this was a lucky find on the the first try. I was also happy with the barber at Cal's but also slightly confused. I have been going to "Hip-Hop" barber shop's with my son's for years because it gave us a chance to talk and for me to get a few moments out of their busy lives. They go weekly for a shape up and I go every two to three week's. I always get a buzzer cut to the shortest length possible and then they shave my head with a razor. Third attempt to get a razor shave here in TV with no dice. It's worth the trade off to go to such nice places for a haircut and not be in fear but I would like to know if anyone has heard of a place that provides this service?

I checked out the website and the stylists have good credentials. Do you know anything about Manny Dominguez? There is a good write up about him.

Is there any one of these ladies, in particular, who can cut wavy/curly hair in layers? Not all stylists have mastered this skill.
