Has anyone moved to TV using one of the POD companies, such as Pack-Rat, PODS, or Mayflower Pods.
I would be very interested with you sharing your experience. Thank you

Moved from CT to a turn key home in Hemingway. We used PODS. They dropped a small container, picked it up the day we left CT. We packed only clothing in the car as the home was turn key. The POD was delivered on the date expected, set in the driveway and removed the next day. Excellent choice. Highly recommended.

PODS is a professional operation from start to finish. I just used Rat Rat Rat to save $300. What a mistake. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with such bad service from the container company. The fact's are they delivered it one day late, they showed up with a unit meant for a local move, it was dented and rusted and was so bad it brought down the property value of our beautiful home. I am the one who discovered the wrong unit was delivered, it had a plastic roof that was obviously flimsy and not made for a 1000 mile trip or to be stored in a hostile environment. They gave me an attitude and they had me trapped because the PODS in my area were sold out. When they delivered to TV the driver was early and place the unit in front of the golf cart garage so the doors could not be opened and put the stabilizing landing gear on the truck on the new driveway without any wood under the legs and dripped hydraulic fluid in the driveway. When I asked him to do the job properly he reacted unkindly and had to be handled. Please learn from my error and pay a little more to put your possessions into the hands of a professional company:cryin2:...PODS is great....the Rat Company is primarily a bunch of clowns.....lesson learned. :22yikes:

We used PODS just a couple of months ago. They delivered the container to me in Virginia on time, picked it up on time, delivered to our house here in the Villages on time and picked it up early when I called and told them I had it unpacked and it was taking up too much room on my driveway. The contents were well packed since I did it myself and there was no damage in transit. I would use them again.

Used pods 5 years ago to TV from Michigan. Pick up and delivery was top notch. The pod was in their warehouse for two weeks until we closed on our house. Everything went smooth. Would use them again if we have to move long distance.

PODs worked great for us and our driveway was on a big slope. I worried myself sick about the slope and it was a non-issue really. My husband did tie everything inside very well to avoid shifting and I recommend you do that. Go to Guys can unload you when you get here: Albert 352-874-4689

We did not use PODS have not heard any complaints. But,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, for moving long distance, we used ICEMAN Bruce Ice is in the paper, he was wonderful and efficient.
He has a very large enclosed van, he put our furniture (scaled down and sold some) in the front of the van, our car in the back of the van and brought it here from the West, on time, no problems and we did not have to drive and motel it.
He is very nice to deal with. bbbbbb

I moved to TV from the DC area using
Mayflower pods. The experience was not great. Use the regular PODs company and use two very secure shielded shaft locks. Mark the locks and take photos. PODs is a good option because they do not calculate fee based on weight.

We moved from Cleveland, Ohio using:
ABF pod service. Completely painless and efficient. You load it, lock it and they transport. Pack as tightly as possible to prevent shifting.
The company was on time at our house and delivered within 15 minutes of scheduled time in The Villages, only delay was when the driver arrived in The Villages, could not locate our street on the GPS. Our realtor met the driver and directed him to our house. Depending on the distention, window of delivery, size of unit determines the cost. If you are transporting furniture you may need a large unit or multiples. My opinion its a fool proof way of moving. Many companies offer this service, check out the prices and coupons.
