I have discarded the sliders after reading posts in the search section of this forum.
Other than that, would you please share suggestions on what to ask prospective installers?
What to look for in screen garage doors per se?

The first installer is coming tomorrow.

Thanks again!

We have used Thumper's for two of our homes and although they were more expensive it is well worth the investment IMHO. 352-342-7809

If you search TOTV, I think you'll find many great reviews for Cool Breeze Screens. We had one installed for our garage, replacing the sliders and it works great and is private enough so people can't see in.

I was at Romac last week to order factory correct insulation for my garage door ,btw if you add insulation to the door you must have it rebalanced because of the added weight of insulation . I also asked about screen doors for the garage. They said that they have several subs that do their screen work. I was also told that if anyone adds anything to the track of the door, bolts ,screws or welds on the track , that any warrantee for the door will be void, and they will not even come out to tune or fix the door if something goes wrong with it.

With the electric self contained screens...ask what happens if you lose power, your vehicle is inside and you need to get it out for an emergency. Luckily we haven't lost power long enough to have encountered that situation. Something to ask though.

We are buying a house with sliders, and intend to take them off the garage. Can we resell the sliders?

The screen doors are on there own tracks. Nothing to do with the existing door.

I also like our sliders, they make it very easy to enter and leave the garage for those little tasks outside of the house.

I would suggest that you try the sliders awhile before
making your final decision.

I'm not sure what the sliders are for. Why would I want a screen on my garage? All I know is I will have to raise the door, and then manually open the screen to get a car out.

We're 10 years with our screen door from Thumper (Clarence Cook), without a problem. One of the things that I like best about him is that he asks for no money until the job is complete and the customer is happy. He, also, does lanai screens and windows.

That's why you might want to keep them for awhile.
To find out that they help keep out, bugs, little critters
and can keep the garage temp cooler.
If the tracks they slide on are kept fairly clean,
it's easy to move them.
Are you moving from the north?
