Day trip: Venice Florida

If you are looking for a very nice "short" trip from the VIllages try Venice Florida. They have a nice walking area with shops and Venice sits on the Gulf and has a "jetty" where you can walk into the Gulf and enjoy scenry, wildlife and kyakers. From what I understand, Venice was very popular years ago and has some age under its belt, but it was a still a very nice place to stop and enjoy the sites.

How long was the trip?
Have cousins who live there and was wondering how far away it was.

Its is about 150 miles from The villages straight down 75 with no tolls that I remember. Plan on 2 1/2 hours driving time one way.

My older sister visited Venice. She really liked it and recommended it to me. :coolsmiley:

When I move to TV, I intend to go down there sometime for a day trip.
