I would like to have an island installed in my kitchen. Has anyone else done this and do you have any recommendations as to who I should use for this small job.

I did this myself (in a former life north of here), using matching kitchen cabinets (wall units correct height) that I mounted on a frame with hidden wheels, and a matching counter top. This allowed the island to serve a dual purpose, it was normally a table for the two of us for breakfast and dinner (we were still working), and when needed for entertaining, we moved it from the wall location to the center of the kitchen for use as a serving table, or as needed.
I have no experience for using anyone in The villages, just wanted to give you another possible option, and this one does not damage the tile floor, and can be removed if you decide you do not want or use it. If you decide on something like this, check the Villages Woodworkers shop on Rolling Acres road, as they have people that do this type of work.

We had a cabinet unit built by Precision Cabinets in a custom size our kitchen cabinet company could not match. Joe did an excellent job and matched everything perfectly. He had a huge photo album of many different kinds of cabinetry and furniture he has built. You might give him a call. Precision Cabinet & Carpentry
