Talk of The Villages is pleased to be the primary sponsor of the Second Annual Freeze. It’s a fun event conceived, arranged, coordinated and hosted by the members of the forum. It is a large group effort. Many members have spent lots of time promoting the “Freeze” and coordinating the plans. We have simply provided the vehicle to get the word out.

This is exactly the type of event that the administrators envisioned when we created Talk of The Villages. A place where people can gather, have fun, plan events, make friends and look out for one another. Talk of The Villages is, in fact, your forum, your place for fun.

It gives us a great deal of pride to know that so many people have come together in the spirit of friendship. Since most of you participate in TOTV from your home computer, it is actually an extension of your home.:024: We try our very best to keep Talk of The Villages a peaceful place where people are not afraid to visit for fear of being harassed, ridiculed or discredited in any way.:yuck: There is enough of that in life, and we try to keep TOTV a “safe harbor” so that you always "feel good" about what is posted here.

Thank you for making Talk of The Villages one of this communities leading sources of fun, entertainment and information. Our 8,000 members and thousands of guests are a truly remarkable group of people. Your administrators will do everything in their power to keep it safe, fun and effective.

We ask that, at the conclusion of The Freeze, you tell others about Talk of The Villages. Spread the word, recruit more members, have more fun, and above all, enjoy a positive place where you can come that is free of negative thoughts and actions. You will never have to apologize for being a member of Talk of The Villages. If anybody tells you anything different, it is likely that they are not part of this wonderful group.

Best Personal Regards to all of you
Your Administrators:)

Thank you guys so much.
We, the members, are the lucky ones to have you with your foresight, talent and professionalism.
I personally cannot find words adequate enough to tell you how much TOTV means to me now and
has meant to me since its inception.

You are definitely :eclipsee_gold_cup:

:agree: Without this wonderful site, I wouldn't have any of the wonderful friends I have. I'm promoting TOTV to all the people I'm trying to recruit to the freeze. Here's hoping for a wonderfully successful and fun event. Thank you admins. Gratefully, Kathie

It is so exciting to see the freeze growing from its simple beginnings last year...just a year ago Samhass came up with the idea after seeing a video of a freeze in Grand Central Station. Just Susan took charge and organized the first freeze.......we were a great success and most importantly had a lot of fun.

This year is shaping up to be quite an event. Please do join us for a lot of fun.

Actually it is a handful of us that have planned and administered The Freeze.
Sponsorship rights go to the highest bidder.:a040::a040:

OK, the one claiming sponsorship rights should be the one providing the T-shirts. I'll wait for mine by the door!

A lot of us saw the video of the freeze in Grand Central Station on Youtube and thought it was a fun idea.

BUT ... it took SAMHASS and JUST SUSAN to have the imagination, light the spark, and take the concept and "re-engineer" it so that we could have fun with it in TV.

Hats off to Sammy and Susan. :mademyday:

Jan, if you have any business cards with the TOTV website on it providing some for freezers to pass out would be beneficial so those at the square have something to remind them of the website.

Ah Jan. That would be a good reason for you to come to the freeze!!

I have a ton of business cards for TOTV. I would love to have them handed out to onlookers.

Unfortunately and fortunately, Amity and I are going to be at the airport in Orlando picking up our daughter and her family exactly at the time of the freeze.

Is there any way that I can get these cards into somebody's hands before that time.

Just a thought............maybe there is someone who would like to attend the Freeze but is unable to participate in the "freeze" itself that could sit at a table with a sign promoting TOTV and pass out business cards. Any takers??

Jan, I'd be happy to meet you anytime to pick up the cards, let's PM and discuss time and place, okay?

Jo, I don't think the table would be a good idea. It would give away the surprise of the Freeze! You nutcase!

I agree with Chels. The whole "surprise" of the Freeze is that a bunch of random people suddenly stop moving for no apparent reason at all. That is what makes it fun.

In my humble opinion, if we identify ourselves by namecards, signs on our back, tables, etc., I think it spoils the surprise of the Freeze.

:agree: that identifying the Freeze before the Freeze would be contradictory to the spirit of the event. NOT A GOOD IDEA to set up a table!!!!! I would hate to see our 2nd Annual Freeze sabotaged.

What if Grand Central Station had set up a table prior to their Freeze? Do you think their surprise would have been as effective? Watch.....

You are absolutely right. I hadn't thought of it that way. I was just hoping to make contact with some of the folks that I read all of the time.

I am not there, and so I guess it is none of my business, but........

It looks like what you got here is a baby/bathwater issue. What's wrong with passing out those TOTV cards after you thaw out?

Boomer (the one who is really freezing up here in Cincinnati)

Boomer, good point about after the event.

I won't be there either but since I had "behind the scenes" involvement last year and remember the excitement leading up to the event, I continue to be protective of the surprise element even in my absence. :22yikes:
