Has anyone taken lessons at the TV courses? If so, are there some pros you can recommend for private lessons? Does anyone know the prices? I'm coming off knee replacement surgery and know I need help after a lengthy layoff.

Call the Villages Golf Academy at Palmer Golf Course they can answer you questions. Their teaching has a very good reputation.

Go to www.golfthevillages.com and click on Golf Academy. We've only had direct experience with Maria Brooks, who is very good for both women and men.

Kudos from me also to The Villages Golf Academy. They are true professionals. I saw Craig Griffin who also writes an occasional column for The Daily Sun. He's an excellent observer and will even videotape your swing to show you precisely what he's noticing (scary). They also do custom club fitting. These are top notch people and we're fortunate to have them here in TV.

Janice & Steven Girard @ Golf USA in Baylee Plaza (27/441, Summerfield) are about the best around. LPGA / PGA certified with the latest computer technology. My wife has been taking lessons from Janice for about a year and has had great success. We recommend her highly.

Highly recommend "JOE WILLIAMS". who teachs at the Lakes Golf Course behind Home Depot and directly arcross the Carriage Museum. Joe charges $25 for a 1/2 PRIVATE lesson and my wife and I would take back to back lessons with each of us observing and learning off each others lesson. So we would buy a small bucket of range balls and then for $50 (total) we each got a private 1/2 lesson. Joe is a PGTAA Master Pro and can be reached at 352-454-9899 or his home is 352-259-9709.

This would be a cheaper alternative to a Villages Golf Clinic and you most definitely would get more personalize attention to your individual game.. Afterwards you can always join a TV Clinic...for we all need continous lessons in this frustraating game of GOLF.

At Water Oak there's a man that gives private lessons at a very low price, and I heard he's very good.

We were very impressed with Mark Panagoni, the PGA instructor at Tree Top golf Academy at the corner of 466 and Rolling Acres.
