We like Sumter Landing Dental. Call United Healthcare and they will send you a list of all participating dentists.

You mean oral surgeons? Do you have a regular dental benefit with United Healthcare?

Just a regular dentist. And yes I have dental with UHC
Wildwood Family Dentistry....
Is this the practice of Dr. Ammar Mousa? Are your appointments with him satisfactory as to care, medical knowledge and staff support?
He appears to be the only non 'dental-mill' dentist that accepts the United Healthcare dental plan based on the list I obtained today from the Medicare Store. (Dental Mill being defined as those multi-dentist stores where they try to scare you into unneeded high cost services.)

We've been using Oakridge Dental in west Ocala and Dr. Bonesteel and his staff are very good. He's a BCBS provider and we'll be switching to United soon so I checked and, he's with them as well. It's a bit of a drive but it's we feel worth it.

Dr Mousa and staff are pleasant, thorough, and competent. A little casual about time, so plan on it taking longer that you might expect. Had one problem with the work of an associate, but I don't think he's there any more. He's done two crowns for me, both were fine. Never had a build-up before, so that's more expensive, but he may be right and it's stronger. I have three others that need to be done. Is he right? Likely. I have a lot of big, aging fillings. While we were up north visiting, I saw my old dentist and asked for a review. She told me she would probably have put a couple on a watch list, but that she generally agreed with him. I'm taking my time getting them done, but I'm not out looking for a different dentist.

I went to him. He wanted to do $8000.00 of work. Went to 2 other dentists, one was out of state. Both said work not needed. Other 2 did thorough periodontal check. Not needed. If I had work done that he recommended UHC would have covered very small part of bill

Both my wife and I use Lake Sumter Dental. Very pleased with the work they do. Will not pressure you on any up sales.

Wildwood, Dr. Ammar Mousa, I've been to him since he took UHC insurance.
First thing he said was I'd need a lot of work, which really surprised me.
I went back to my current dentist here and "up north" who did the initial work both said my current dental work was fine.
I crossed him off my list.
Sumter Landing Dental, Dr.Fisher is referenced elsewhere on here as being a crook too.
I've not found a decent UHC dentist in the area.
Best wishes

Had billing problems with them. Also wanted to do a lot of work my dentist up north said I did not need. Run don't walk.

Absolutely agree with the above. I went to Wildwood Family Dentistry (Mousa) and will never return - very unprofessional.

Can you explain how they were unprofessional?
We are considering going there

The dentist and his nurse talked about other patients while working on me. The dentist (Muusa) is just too rough for me - everything seems to
be hurried and "let's get on to the next patient". I was just too uncomfortable being in that office.

I tried another dentist under the UHC plan to get a regular cleaning. Same old, same old. They always take a ton of x-rays and then pretty much refused to do a regular cleaning and recommended $7,000 worth of dental work with two teeth being pulled and two bridges made. AAAARRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!
My experience is they try to tell you that you have serious problems when nothing hurts or is wrong. They try to scare you in that if you don't have the work done, you will have possibly fatal problems. It's three years and I'm still waiting for the supposed serious problems.
No thanks. I will visit my dentist up north for a true opinion.
Finding an honest dentists in one's plan is something I haven't been able to accomplish. Very frustrating.
