Own home in Villages. Our house watcher was a family member but needs to tend to ailing husband. Does anyone have or utilize a house watching service? What is the cost? Reliability? Also need a part time housekeeper to assist after renters exit our property. Does anyone use a service or individual? How much do you pay per hour for cleaning? I thank you for your assistance and truly love Talk of THe Villages. It does keep us snowflakes in touch to the heaven of the Villages.

I use http://www.affordablehomewatch.com/ . They are very good and easy to get hold of. Very reliable and the cost is $40 per month. Have my home ready when I come down. Check it weekly and take cart for a spin. I recently had an issue with my sprinklers turning on too much. Found out when I received my water bill! Got hold of Marge and Rich and they went over and found the problem. Called me from the house to let me know what they found. Very satisfied with them!

I use Redwitch who posts here on this forum. She has been a wonderful resource for me. We also rent our place as well as using it ourselves. She cleans, watches, greets renters, answers their calls, solves problems, and I could go on and on. When we had a lightening strike last year she handled it all, sent me pictures, figured out what needed to be done, and once she got my okay, she made it happen. I just can't say enough good things.

I also use Redwitch- the others have said it all but I have to add that she truly cares about her customers. I know when I am not there, my house is in great hands.

We use Village Watchdogs. They charge by the visit, not by the month. We find them less expensive. We used them last year for six months .. and we are using them again this year. They send updates, pictures, etc.

I can not say enough about Ed & Mary Edwards of Safe Home Watch. To me they are the model of what a Home Watch Service should be. They are very involved with your home and treat it as if it was theirs. You can not go wrong with them, plus we find them very inexpensive for the amount of personal service they provide.

I just started using Safe Home Watch (Ed & Mary Edwards) and am quite happy with them. They send a weekly email update, which is great. Also had some unfinished repairs pending when we left after our last visit that weren't able to be completed before tenants checked in, and they f/u with the vendors and kept me informed.

Village Watchdogs are very reliable - we have used them for two years and certainly will continue to use them. They go above and beyond and are very accommodating. They keep in touch all the while you are away and notify you immediately if they find a problem.

And Village Watchdogs will e-mail you pictures if there is something that needs attention.

Two thumbs up!
