10 Worst Places in Canada for Mosquitoes (http://www.msn.com/en-ca/travel/tips/10-worst-places-in-canada-for-mosquitoes/ss-BBt7lw8)

I tried to take a picnic a few times when I lived at Middlebrook Hall on the University of Minnesota's East Bank-- pretending I understood what my Spanish speaking group of international students were saying-- on the Mississippi which was quite close. University of Minnesota - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Minnesota)

The picnic was usually me and the diners were the mosquitoes which were drone sized.

They would be gone soon after the temperatures fell but then you would have to contend with frost bite unless all covered up with clothes and water proof boots and the like.

While counter-intuitive, mosquitoes are a bigger problem in northern Canada and Alaska than most places...than would seem possible.

Apparently the water and muskeg are ideal habitat, but it's hard to understand how they survive such brutal cold.

Mosquitoes have been known to actually stampede herds of caribou, which when you think about it...is pretty darn amazing.

The massive amount of skeeters I've encountered on numerous fishing trips to northern Canada and Alaska, are insane and a good guide will always provide a mosquito hat.

Anything with less than 98% DEET....is simply candy to these skeeters. :(

Here in Minnesota we have two types of mosquitoes. One so small it can go through the screen, and one so big it can open the door!

Arizona Zika Virus Outbreak Predicted | Phoenix New Times (http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/arizona-zika-virus-outbreak-predicted-8028177)

I do not remember that many mosquitoes in Apache Junction and Scottsdale, AZ., but they seem to have a potential problem there too with the Zika Virus.

That sounds very true, Greg Nelson.
