We are taking the NCL Mediterranean cruise departing Sept. 30 to October 12 from Spain to Venice. If anyone has taken this particular cruise itinerary, can you suggest the shore excursions you would recommend taking. Any other suggestions would be welcome as we are extending our stay in both Spain and Venice for a few days in each.

I just posted on my own thread that we are on the cruise just before yours - leaving Sept. 18 from Venice and going to Barcelona. We have booked our shore excursions through communications on Cruise Critic. I organized a couple of them.

I haven't been on that cruise but I can give you some tips on the Mediterranean. I was there in 2014 and am returning this fall for a 22 day cruise with a transatlantic crossing.

Go to YouTube and enter your port and see highlights of the area by Rick Steves

Sign up for Cruise Critic and join the roll call for your sailing. Many organize private excursions at ports and may have openings.

Buy tickets ahead of time online for venues in cities where you are extending your stays. For example, in Barcelona choose your desired venues Sagrada Familia, Batllo, Park Guell. You can read reviews on Trip Advisor to help you select what appeals to you.
Don't waste valuable vacation time in lines. Good planning is the key!
