Att U-Verse? Anyone have this service?

I am looking into this service to lower our internet and cable bill. It says it is available in The Villages. Anyone using this?

Had it in KC; loved it, no problems - NONE; can't get it where I live here in TV.

Unfortunately it is true that AT&T U-verse is not in The Villages. We have them now in Michigan and have always had excellent service. Their customer service is superior and when we had a "box" go bad, they air shipped a new box and we literally had the new box the next day through FedEx. Should they ever come to the Villages, we will definitely sign up with them.

After seeing their commercial and looking at the website they indicated that they were in TV. Back to the drawing board!

We had Comcast for about 15 years, when we moved 30 miles away for 4 months they tried to jack it up to$180, then when we moved here they tried the same thing, we cancelled it.

I'm guessing that there must be some type of AT&T service available in the Osceola Hills area. The few times I've been over there on a weekday, I've seen several AT&T vans parked at some of the houses in that area. I have no idea what service they provide in that area, and have been curious about it.

They also service Direct TV; I saw a AT&T service van one day in our neighborhood and asked the tech if U-Verse was here and he replied that he was installing Direct TV.

AT&T owns Direct TV so I don't think U-Verse will be available in TV anytime soon. We had it in Louisiana and loved it.

AT&T U-Verse is the exact same product as Century Link Prism.

I don't believe the infrastructure (for example, fiber optic cable) has been installed. CenturyLink does have fiber optic to the house installed for a good chunk of The Villages and Comcast has coax to the house along with Brighthouse.

AT&T owns Direct TV so I don't think U-Verse will be available in TV anytime soon. We had it in Louisiana and loved it.

We went to Century Link, however where we live the infrastructure had not been upgraded so the product that they would provide would have been susceptible to "chattering". I believe that there were other postings relative to Century Link, but the AT&T U-Verse quality would not have been available to us (this came directly from the Century Link representative). I gave the representative "kudos" for being honest about their product. In the interests of full disclosure, we dumped Comcast cable TV (we still use their internet albeit grudgingly) and switched to DirectTV which is owned by AT&T U-Verse.

All the companies offer incentive programs that usually last for a year. Subsequently, prices go up, sometimes way up. If you put the service on "vacation", the package incentive stops and prices go up.

We had ATT, Comcast, century link and Brighthouse ( and their affiliates) over the last several years. Trust me there is very little difference. However, I give a slight edge to Brighthouse for their customer service.

When these companies were deregulated I was hoping for lower prices---so far this "thought" hasn't worked well. I hate my next "thought"---perhaps they should be regulated like other utilities. After all they have become a necessity. Who would have thought?

I NEVER had any problems with my U-Verse boxes freezing up and having to re-boot them like I do our CenturyLink boxes.

The CenturyLink Prism TV offering is a so-called "IPTV", which really works best off of fiber optics to the house.
