The new bill is being touted as being chock full of ear marks and more pork.
What am I missing? There is obviously no shortage of money (printed paper that is!!).

Every lawmakers favorite project is in the mill again.

The POTUS by default and by pushing the last bail out through full of pork has sent a signal LOUD AND CLEAR...spending is OK...PORK is OK...

And now he is bally hooing his team is going to do a line item review of the budget. Who is going to believe that malarky.

CHANGE?barf None here! Same old politics as usual. Words....no actions.

Don't those of you who may be on the so called fixed income, wish you could just make a list of what you want to do and have a platform to list it in and get it funded. And if you got it, what would you do next year??? There is only one answer ask for more....why not.

That's what your lawmakers are doing with some mighty big bucks.

And it is condoned by the POTUS....purported by the lawmakers...and most certainly condoned by the silent majority.

No results required just put your hand out....tis the era of entitlement.....FOR SOME!!!!!!!!!!!

The silent majority grows more lemming like as every day goes by.

Just remember all of this in 2010 - oust 75% of all incumbents then

Hey....wait a minute....I just heard my President say yesterday that he was "proud" of that very same bill because it didn't have earmarks or pork. Yes sir, I paid close attention and that is what my President said about the bill you are referring to. I can't believe my President would tell such a whopper. You don't think he would lie to the American people do you?

Politicians have a dictionary which is different than the general public uses. They also have a different grammar structure.

You see, the problem is ours. We just don't understand what we hear. We dumb voters just have got to accept that what we hear isn't what is really meant.

And yes, Reps and Dems both employ politic-speak.

Let's keep it simple.... we are in the Major League now of TAX & SPEND. Duh, the Democrats control Congress and Obama is the President. This is it, no sense getting our GOP shorts in a bundle... I've hoisted the white flag... :faint:

This man is out of control and all we can do is stand on the sidelines with our hands in our pockets, our heads hung low and despair.... I feel like I'm reading a Stephen King novel. Who in the world is advising this man???

Let's keep this in at least an honest perspective. This is a bill left over from last year (because democratic and republican crooks could not come to terms).
Also as noted above this is a congress problem; Dems AND Repubs. The disgusting part is that these "lawmakers" can eventually hold any bill hostage if they don't get their "earmarks" (read strongarm money).

Read this if you have any doubt that this is bipartisan issue. The contaminated way that our congress functions has not fundemantaly changed.

Should it be vetoed? H@#* yes, and I hope it will be. But honestly, with a congress full of self serving thieves that can hold the budget/bills/system at large hostage, I doubt it will. Everyone has to get their little piece of the pie to keep constituents happy and buy the votes. How many of our citizens are writing their congressman to demand that the earmarks for their community be removed???

I am sure that there will be posts somehow still stating that this is all still evil Obama's problem but really, it's a system wide problem and only willingness to make some sweeping and painful changes can begin to make a dent in it.

I certainly want to say that I do not feel that President Obama is evil.

As stated during the campaign and primary, THIS IS HIS IDEALOGY...he only knows one thing and has been exposed only to socialist programs of large huge government spending.

And your last sentence...."it's a system wide problem and only willingness to make some sweeping and painful changes can begin to make a dent in it."....THAT was exactly what this President campaigned on....

also campaigned on no exceptions to his rules of integrity and that is gone also...

and he said 1/2 weeks before he was sworn in that there would be NO....NONE...earmarks in the stimulus bill...well, we all know that is not true either.

The deception is worse than earmarks. Now, with this new bill ACORN and that radical LaRaza group get even more billions of money...double dipping at its best. These are political groups..you can paint them anyway you want but these bills are political paybacks and advances for the future.

In defense of President Obama...I believe that Pelosi and Reid are running the country and doing it anyway they want !

The insurance company mascot Gecko awaits the full weight of the executive from behind the desk, who insists on falling backwards onto the arms of the unwilling but captive hapless lizard.

“We can do this”, exclaims the executive in a bizarre ill-conceived team building exercise.

You want to say “How ridiculous! I’m glad real life is not like that.”

It is a most apt metaphor describing the tidal wave of government debt we are foisting onto our offspring.
