I rent out my house and I have insurance through Allstate in Lady Lake (753-1177) it's only 46.00 a yr. I'm on my 2nd yr. Thomas Keedy is the agent.

We also have our cart insured through Thomas Keedy. It is my understanding that anyone who drives the cart is covered, whether they are an owner, guest or renting.

I'm insured with Allstate too, although not with Thomas Keedy.
I was told that Allstate just began offering 1 year policies. And I thought I was getting a break with a 1 year policy for $140.
Before I blow a gasket, are you sure you had a 1 yr and not a 6 month at $46? And did you get minimal coverage or was it an older cart? (mine is brand new)
If you're paying $46 per year for a brand new cart I'm going to have a serious talk with my agent!

I too have Allstate. I have it insured seperately from my home as a vehicle similiar to auto insurance. I pay approx. $160 per year. I too will be upset. My agent is Mike Fessette. My insurance covers anyone using it. I do rent my home and others drive it. Better safe than sorry.

Steve .. We'd all hate to see you blow a gasket! I'll be interested to see Tucson's response.

I'd think the policy cost would depend on the value of your cart, and you have a brand new one! I can't remember how much we pay, but I know it is closer to $140 than $46! We also have a newer cart (Columbia Par Car).

We have a 2003 rebuilt/reconditioned (not sure of the proper terminology - basically rebuilt from the frame up) Club Car purchased from Golf Cart Connection two years ago.

Our coverage is through Progressive and our agent is Erin at Villages Insurance at Colony Plaza.

We paid $60.60 for a 12 month policy which includes:

$100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
$50,000 per accident property damage liability
$250.00 deductible for both comprehensive and collision
$3,000 accessory coverage included
Roadside assistance

Erin assured us this is a very good policy and I have no reason to believe she would under insure us.

Hope this info helps.

Allstate no longer offers the 6 month golf cart policy for new policies. The annual policy premium has a minimun premium of $60.60. This includes Bodily Injury 100/300, Property damage to others 100,000, Guest Passenger Liability 100/300, Comp & Coll $ 100.00 ded (Actual Cash Value at time of loss)
$1000 accessory coverage. 2009 Carts are around $66.00 year with $100.00 ded or you may choose a $250.00 which makes the premium $60.60.

Contact Wayne McDonald (Allstate) at Palm Ridge Plaza off 466 or call him at 259-3825. He will be able to give you a quick quote and all the facts.
