I was looking at a new home in hemmingway online and then contacted my TV realtor, she said there were lots available in the area if we wanted to build. She then informed me that a corner lot would be an additional 20,000 dollars. Is this normal during these slow times?

it's not that slow, the lifestyles are all booked up and sales are up year over year,
and , yep, corner lots will cost a premium.
think if you really want one, it's airy, but also more costly, more taxes, more water and mowing and fertilizer too,
best wishes

Hi Biker,
Our corner lot with a villa wall at back was more than that. It is interesting - even in these times - that the lots on our street that sold first were those with a view of the golf course. These would have premiums of at least 5 times $20,000.

Interesting but not unexpected. I don't think TV management has many concerns about how to sell their premium lots. It's all the other interior lots that concern them. After all, the interior lots must outnumber the premium lots by 5 to 1. Maybe much greater than that.

is a media/political induced state to keep we the people in line and fearful.
And since for the most part it is untrue (93% still gainfully employed and over 93% still making their mortgage payment).
Most developers in the USA would like a piece of TV's "slow" season!!!!
The housing market is a reality unfortunately for a lot of people and has created a problem for resales. If it were not for that TV would be booming like they were a couple of years ago. Prices as a result here, have moderated somewhat...but are up over previous years.
Now is the time to buy in TV....because when the media/politicians decide to cheer the masses up....get ready.

My wife and I visited TV on a Lifestyle Preview visit in July 2008. When my wife mentioned that she really wanted a corner lot, the sales representative told us that there would be a $20,000 premium for a corner lot. So we were quoted the same $20,000 figure in July of last year.
