"In January 2012, Trump told Greta Van Susteren that Romney “was hurt really very badly” by his initial refusal to release his tax returns. He advised Romney to “release them now."

WHo cares about someone's taxes, if the gov is fine with them? I am more interested in 30k emails that Hillary refuses to release. Government property, by the way. If our gov wasn't so corrupt, she would be in jail right now instead of flying around on a fake charity's expense account with her husband and daughter.
And by the way, she did finally release her tax return this week. No one has been harassing her about releasing them, right? Oh, and take notice that the charity they donated to was their charity. The one that pays for all their travel. They do pretty good for not having a job between the three of them. I guess you could say that they are all "charity" cases.

Face your prejudice-pre-judgements and think.
There are 86,000 pages to the current tax code.
When, you did your taxes or paid someone else to do your taxes, did you try to pay as little or as much as you possibly could. If, you are not aware their is a line on YOUR TAX FORM that allows you to pay extra tax should you wish to do so.
It has already come out that in 1996-97-98 Trump paid zero income tax. Is this fair-probably not. Is it legal-YES IT IS. As I said the tax code is 86,000 pages. I THINK WE ALL AGREE THE TAX CODE NEEDS TO BE CHANGED AND REDUCED IN IT'S COMPLEXITIES. Are you aware there is a section written into the code for STARBUCKS. Because they roast coffee suddenly they are taxed as a manufacturer.
The clinton's donated 10% of their income to charity. I think that is the top amount you can deduct for charity.
NINETY EIGHT percent of what they gave went to THE CLINTON FOUNDATION. The Clinton foundation spends 86% on OVERHEAD. Chelsey Clinton fresh out of college is paid a salary of a COOL ONE MILLION for whatever she does for the CLINTON FOUNDATION. So in plainspeak english, the clintons donate money to themselves and take a tax deduction.
Trump might well pay zero tax by depreciating real estate same as you would if you own rental property. You may not think you are guilty of this BUT YOU ARE IF YOU OWN A REIT, A UTILITY, HAVE A PENSION FUND ETC ETC ETC.
Cain proposed a flat tax his 9-9-9 line. The fact is this was first proposed by Steve Forbes and the number was calculated as 12-12-12. Cain did not pitch a true flat tax as he said he would keep the sacred mortgage interest deduction. MY VIEW-government will never go to a true flat tax because it would remove much of the poser of government.
IN THE END-TAX HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE SAME-
EVERYONE WANTS AND NO ONE WANTS TO PAY.
IT IS TRULY THAT SIMPLE WHEN YOU READ ANY DISCUSSION OF TAXES.
