Seven (Se7en) (1995) - Rotten Tomatoes (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/seven/)
I watched this again yesterday and it is not as upsetting as it once was. I remember other family members too being quite disturbed by this movie.
Because of my connection to the 2-24-1976 Michelle Mitchell murder investigation in Reno, Nevada I have skewered views of movies like this. Sometimes these really hit home for me; sometimes they do not.
And things now are so different with the Michelle Mitchell murder investigation with their probable connection to the SF Bay area Gypsy Hill murders which also occurred in the first few months of 1976. And the railroading of a lesbian paranoid schizophrenic Cathy Woods because so many people wanted closure in the Michelle Mitchell murder even if the evidence looks a bit hinky in hindsight. At least, they probably got the right accused with Rodney Halbower.
I did view the movie Se7en now with my experiences since when it came out in 1995. I-Team: Rodney Halbower could be responsible for Bay Area's 'Gypsy Hill Murders' | abc7news.com (http://abc7news.com/news/i-team-major-break-in-bay-areas-1976-gypsy-hill-murders/300370/)
I did not have a casual relationship of student-teacher with Barbara Mitchell back in Reno, Nevada. I and the late John Picollo were given the Michelle Mitchell Memorial Scholarship for the 1976-1977 Academic Year and John had been questioned in the murder just because the Reno, Nevada police questioned everyone who knew Michelle Mitchell. I never had met her. The three Johns in the Mitchell English class at Earl Wooster High School often were called on by Barbara Mitchell much to the amusement of the other students.
Barbara Mitchell was also the first teacher beside my Art Teacher who saw something special in me.
My 40th Earl Wooster High School Class Re-union in Reno, Nevada was a few weeks ago but I decided I better not go because I do not think I or others could handle all the bad memories this would have stirred up. 2-24 is my birthday so I have these memories stirred up extremely often and I have become used to it. But that probably would not be the same with my Earl Wooster High School classmates. It is great though to connect with the other John of the three Johns who stills lives in Reno, Nevada and seems to be doing quite well. Many things are possible via Facebook.
I had had these memories stirred up when I returned to Reno, Nevada for the American Association of Law Libraries Annual Convention in 1989 about six weeks after I graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School. The re-actions of my fellow law librarians to my concerns pushed up by these memories would become my 224 613 Project eventually. I was introduced as the cataloger of all the WESTLAW computer databases for a national project while at this convention and ran into two of my former Philosophy professors from the University of Nevada, Reno. I had worked for maybe 40 prisoners in for all kinds of different crimes-- or even out at the time-- while a student then Student Director for Legal Assistance to Minnesota Prisoners (L.A.M.P.) so I had demonstrated that I could be very professional when dealing with all kinds of criminals.
