I saw at least 2 booths at the LSL fair yesterday selling the house signs that go on the lamp post. Are those the best/only places to get these signs?

You can get them at the Market of Marion also.

We did a bit of pricing and the Markets of Marion were cheaper and you could pick your sign up in an hour or so.

:yuck:We got one from the Squares and it broke and started to hit my post in less then a year. The material is just too thin and the hole too close to the end to stand up. The vendor wouldn't do anything about it other then sell me a new one at 1/2 price. I think they are way over priced for what you get.

I fixed it my self by putting pieces of strapping metal over the holes.

Are there restrictions based on Village living in on these?

Thanks, Army Guy

Same with us, GG. Ours says "Parrot's Landing" but haven't received any mail addressed that way yet.

My lighted sign just has my first name with 2 martini glasses (for the party girl, not because I drink martini's). I got mine from the vendor at SS, he was great, not expensive at all. I got a lighted one because its so dark at night on my street that you can't read the signs if they're not lit. I just love my sign and the vendor was great!!

Considering all of the hackers online as well as criminal activities everywhere, I choose to not display any form of ID on the lampost. A female's first name on the post identifies the resident is a female living alone. The last name identifies the resident as well as their address when their phone number can be found. We must be cautious these days.

The name of a home is a real NEAT idea; love it and safe too!!

Something to think about: The EMS, Fire company and the local police use the lamp post sign to find your house in emergencies.

Be sure you have your house number on the lamp post sign or someplace where it can be seen - preferably a lighted place.

Chief Tucker mentions this several times a year in his Daily Sun articles.

Also, in my case - Ace was the place to get the sign. When I got mine, they even came out and hung it for me at no extra charge.

About 5 miles North of TV on 441 (open Friday - Sunday). A large tented flea market/produce market with many many vendors (sign sez 1,000 vendors but probably lucky if half that)

A couple weeks ago they had a special military equipment flea market. Had lots of vehicle parts, uniforms, etc.; also had jeeps, trucks etc up to a M48 Tank on display and for sale.

Here comes Tony, I am about to hijack another thread. I saw him last week hanging my picture at the post office. (I took it right down)

Anyway....When do we EVER get to take the numbers off our window...or not???? I sort of remember you are supposed to leave them up for emergency vehicles. Kinda like it is a rule. Who can tell me about this?

I took mine off of the window when I put the lamp post sign up.

Again with the BJ Thomas thing, not to mention another highjacking:

What a day for a yard sign,
What a day for a yard-sign foray,
I'm lost in a daydream
Thinking all about yard signs today.

Even if it didn't make the New York Times
It's one of those days to talk about yard post signs
I know that it's true, it's on a lot of folk's minds
Three separate threads today about those yard signs!
