global warming was a debate and not a fact !
Seems our new administration has declared it a fact.....Treasury Sec says NO tax breaks for oil or gas
...."don't believe it makes sense to significantly subsidize the production and use of sources of energy (like oil and gas) that are dramatically going to add to our climate change (problem). We don't think that's good economic policy and we think changing those incentives is good for the country,"
Without debating the pros and cons of global warming, it bothers me that this administration would just announce it as a fact and use it for taxation reasoning !

The latest news reports show that global temperature has not increased since 2001 despite large increases in the amount of CO2 being produced. Some scientists believe that we will not see any further warming for the next 30 years and may actually see cooling.

Should we be preparing for desert or arctic conditions?

BUT today it was DECLARED A FACT !!!!! And it will have an impact on financial decisions made by this administration and congress !!!!
PS...thanks for the link. I do now know where I stand on global warming but think it a bit arrogant to just assume because they believe it must be a fact !

Does anybody know what the "correct" temperature or climate or weather is supposed to be for this planet?
Perhaps the planet is supposed to be a lot warmer than it is, and still recovering from its Ice Age!
Why should it be colder than what it is now?
Will cooler temperatures make things worse for life as we know it?
How do we know?

Our government has a lot more to declare as so;
Your money is our money.
You are too old for the operation on your hip.
Social security is a bad idea. It is ended.
etc. etc.
I am afraid the worse is yet to come.
Just kidding, I hope.

Global warming is a fact! Helllooooooo! This administration did not make it so -- a few hundred scientists have stated it as a fact. Honestly, what are you going to blame President Obama for next? Oh yes, Santa used to exist, but this administration vetoed him! Ha! :1rotfl:

Chels, just as many scientist, if not more, claim global warming is a hoax. Follow the money. Also, another way for the government to get even more control.

You may wish to look at the number of scientists who do not buy into global warming. With arctic ice coverage expanding and global temperatures holding steady or dropping despite continuing increase in CO2, the case for catastrophic global warming appears weak.
If you look at climate history, you will find that change is ongoing; sometimes slow and sometimes amazingly fast. The earth at times has been a great snowball where everything was covered in ice and at other times has had zero surface ice. The simple answer is that we do not have any proven data or algorithm on which to base a prediction.
Moving away from the use of imported oil will reduce our CO2 emissions. This is something that both the GW alarmists and skeptics can support. (with the exception of Al Gore, of course) Putting in a cap and trade system will be a disaster for American industry. It will require that we have nations that do not have a program of reducing CO2 take over all energy intensive energies including steel, aluminum, copper, etc. I'm sure the Chinese will be grateful.

Really now, there is no science involved. They claim that 600 or more have reached scientific consensus that there is global warming and that it is caused by man. Science is not consensus. It is repeatable scientific fact. It is proven, not agreed to.
quit drinking the koolaid. It does not help to believe a lie.

Not sure where you read that anyone blamed President Obama for global warming.
I posted that his admiinistration declared the debate over and used it to justify his financial plans !!!
