well...not the first..but an important one still....we listed our home for sale 2 days ago (no...it has not sold yet ;) )...we are thrilled and have fingers and toes and everything else possible, crossed and hoping....obviously...only time will tell

we are seriously looking at everything in our home, to pack, sell, throw out, give away, etc., in anticipation of the sale and...finally...our move to TV

crossed fingers, toes, etc...and prayers...would be appreciated from TOTV's

Congratulations! We are putting our house on the market in PA in about two weeks. We are in the process of interviewing realtors. As far as getting rid of stuff, don't discount Craig's list. We have sold everything from an antique sewing machine to a reel to reel tape recorder to an old sofa. It is easy to use and very successful. It is like an ongoing garage sale. Hope to see you in the Villages soon!

Best of Luck to you. We are doing the same. Our house will be going up in about 2 weeks. We still have a few more things to freshen up before we call in the agent. We too have taking a hard look at everything in our home to get rid of, donate, sell, etc. We already have our home in The Villages so we have a good idea as to what we are taking. One thing a friend of my said, don't keep that northern way of thinking (more winter months). Think light and airy (more summer months). Also, she told me don't give away all your platters. Take one or two with you because you will entertain and use them. Wishing all of us that have our homes on the market or getting ready to list them Good Luck and Good Selling! Will keep my fingers and toes crossed for all of us!

We are also getting our house ready to sell. We are hoping to try it on our own. I'd like to hear from others in the same boat and would welcome any hints or advice. We live in northern New York.

Here's wishing you luck with the sale of your home. If you've been following many of us on TOTV we've had our homes for sale for months/year and more. One owner has showed their home over 40 times. Ours has been listed for 10 months and we've had 2 showings. Unfortunately it's a great time to buy but horrific time to sell. Depends on what end of the spectrum you're on. If this was 2005 we'd have asked 40% more than our original price but have gone the other direction and have reduced it from the original price by 20%. We bought a new home in TV last May. Again - It's a great time to buy and preowned in TV with all the additions and low or no bonds is extremely tempting. I saw a designer recently listed for 139K.

Go get em - Hope to see you in the Square or Crispers soon.

thanks to all who posted....and thanks for your good wishes..who knows what the market will bring to us....its a killer to have to list the house at the price we did...knowing that we could have easily listed it for $40k more a meer 18 months ago...o well...it is what it is....seems i have alwasy been a situation (not unlike many others i am sure), to always buy in a sellers market and sell in a buyers market...but this current situation is beyond belief

no more "tear beer"......gotta be positive....obviously we can' wait to get to TV and hopefully meet so many on line TOTV "friends" and make them in-person friends....wife and i are so looking forward to our first lunch at Chrispers

thanks again everyone...will post the good and bad as things develop

Good luck, Tank - from personal experience you will forget all about that $40K once you meet and greet at Crispers and realize how lucky you (and all of us) are. Hope you sell soon, mine sold in 3 months in Los Angeles, Yikes!, and then had to pack in 2 weeks and move. Oh, I wish the same for you.

Good Luck tanddvr1950 on a quick sale of your current home. We sold our home in Saratoga Springs, moved here and never looked back. The Village
lifestyle can't be beat :pepper2:

It is way more important to sell and get on with your life, and with having a wonderful time in TV, than to wait until the market improves. At which time, of course, the house prices in TV will probably have skyrocketed.

Good luck with your sale.
