A dark, dark day in our nation. Motive could have been thinking these two nurse practitioners might carry drugs, or it could be a junkie who'd kill for $2 and a bottle of Tylenol (but we're told they are 'non-violent' addicts). Or.....it could be a hate crime against Catholic Christians.

To me, the quoted paragraphs below say a lot but I don't think most people will note it, being far below the fold and then sandwiched between a map and giant photo captioned, "Should swimming with dolphins be banned" (like this is important in light of the story at hand).

No one else will see them, she said.

The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson reported that Dr. Elias Abboud, the clinic owner, said the sisters raised money to care for the poor.

"They would treat them for free," he said.

What do you suppose the motive was?

Revenge, sex or money?

Possibly revenge for him thinking that the nuns did not do enough for a close family member, although, being raised Catholic, I can't see that. Being nuns, I don't think it would have been for sex, money or drugs; nothing I've read in any report so far alludes to that. Something just went off in that evil mind and he saw an opportunity to kill two white nuns.

Making a go of life is not easy. We all know that. Living within your means, working harder, longer, making your own breaks, saving money toward a goal...gets you where you're goin'.

I only know what I know and I don't hate or dislike anyone because of the color of their skin. I haven't done anything wrong by being born this color. The goal is up ahead for all of us. For some it is harder. It has always been like that and it always will be. We are not created equal, but we are all created valuable.

It's righteous that no one jump to conclusions about motive. It's unfortunate many in our society are sinful in their efforts to exploit, which would be the case if minutiae were different.
