"I'm driving in my car. I turn on the radio." (Yeah, I know you know I am singing that line. I sure wish we had one of those little emoticon things or whatever they are called that had some music notes around him.)
Anyway, my radio, when not tuned in to a little music from my past, is tuned in to NPR. And today, when I heard this show, I just knew that as soon as I got back home I wanted to post this for those of you who are as concerned as I am about our nation's health care crisis.
Today's Fresh Air was on the topic of this mess. The second part of the show, which was an interview with an economics professor from Princeton, really got my attention. So much so, in fact, that I burned up a little extra gas going right past my driveway and taking a little spin around the neighborhood to just keep on listening to the interview.
This guy covered things in such a sane manner. Who knew that an Ivy League professor could sound so practical. And, of course, I was so impressed because he talks about how that old political button pushing of just hollering those words "socialized medicine" results in the knee-jerk reaction that allows DC to not solve the problem. This guy sounds like he might have a rational perspective on health care and may have a dose of common sense, too. He believes that we better get this thing solved this go round. To not deal with it will spell more economic disaster.
Whether you have good coverage or not, if you have concerns about the big picture of what we are facing, you will find this show interesting.
I am putting the link here right now, just so you know, but the audio will not be available until after 3:00.
(edit 3/13: This link has changed. Just click on "past shows" and go to March 11)
