It appears to be a fledgling lobbying enterprise---similar to AARP

Not quite like AARP. Check out the parent organization's website: NATIONAL RETIREES LEGISLATIVE NETWORK HOME PAGE (http://www.nrln.org/)

I recognize the names and respect the credentials of many of this organization's national leaders. Their agenda reflects the growing concern that retirees from major corporations have about the whittling away of pensions and benefits we were promised. Major corporations contribute millions to elected officials in hopes of gaining support for their so-called cost-cutting plans, while their senior executives are rewarding themselves with huge salaries and bonuses. Another voice can help. AARP, while serving the interests of retired people per se has, in my opinion, become too commercial.

You are right in saying it is a lobbying group.

I think they are here to pick the brains of folks who live here rather than put any band-aids on any problem.

I don't think that is bad per se, trying to help and influence is very good indeed, but I don't think it is really going to change the reality that their insurance isn't accepted by the medical facility that they had chosen. That isn't illegal or even immoral. It is terribly disappointing and frustrating and certainly not what they had counted on.

Personally I don't think that was the plan of the people who had the idea to begin with to provide a nice health care system to folks and turn a profit too.

It is obviously not working, but it was a good idea.
