I'm a veteran that does NOT support the scumbag. Yes, it is his right. And yes, he is a scumbag for complaining about making millions of bucks in this country.

BS!
How childish, unoriginal and having absolutely no value to the discussion. :ohdear:
While you may not agree, the link showing that veterans HAVE supported Kaepernick...is a FACT.
I know, I know...facts get in the way of bias for some folks. :D
The best part about living in this great country however, is that even people like you...are allowed their opinion.
But just like for Kaepernick, that doesn't mean their opinions will be immune to criticism.
So enjoy your hypocrisy...you've certainly earned it.

Gee how impressive to learn being entitled to one's own opinion.
Now if we could only be allowed to have that opinion without some self appointed, lecturing name caller taking a person to task for having an opinion that differs from theirs.

I don't like CK's method of getting a message across, especially since I don't really believe it is anything more than a publicity stunt. However, I will always honor his right to put his message out there. My father served in two wars (WWII and Korea) and was a career soldier. My brother served three tours in Nam. Both of them would have loathed his disrespect of our anthem. Both of them would have willingly died for his right to show that disrespect. One of the greatest things about America is the right to free speech. We can protest. We can say vile things. We can be verbally stupid, mean, kind .... That's not true in all countries.

You have a valid point.
I am a combat Vet and I believe that one has the right to be an ignorant @sshole if he wishes. I also believe that patriots have the right to condemn him if they wish. Many of us have earned the right to criticize that spoiled, entitlement mentality poser, that has no clue as to how great of a country he lives in. Like you, I believe it is a publicity stunt on his part, based on his desperation. He knows that they are getting ready to can his butt and he is attempting to put a racist slant on it.
He is a loser and patriots really should ostracize him.
Vets believe in his right, but they do NOT endorse his view. It is his right to protest anything he wishes, but it is everyone else's right to disagree with him. I am sure that the NFL will need no more encouragement to can him when they are ready in a couple of weeks. I doubt he has helped his case.

THIS MIGHT EXPLAIN SOME OF HIS ACTIONS.....
The media won't tell us this. Turns out Kaepernick is engaged to a Muslim woman who is a BLM activist. In the off season he converted to Islam. She appears to be radicalizing him by looking at his Instagram and other accounts. He is a VERY angry man and should be watched. His actions now are making sense!! ISLAM is EVIL and spreading like wildfire!!! OUR flag means everything to Americans’. FREEDOM. Don't like it. LEAVE!!!
This is the ending of a letter by Allen West that has been circulating via e-mail.
I didn't bother to do a fact check because 1) wonder what the motivation is behind their responses 2) if not true colin sure does do a great imitation of what is described above

Each generation's veteran's have different view. As our society values deteriorate, so does the pride in the county. Today's veteran in the trenches come from different standard of pass. So I can see why some would support his view. Society and the government view has changed. This IMO started with the Vietnam war. A war we got sucked into which IMO we should of never set foot in the country.
There percentage of veterans these days that are dissatisfied with or government pass 20 years and low percentage don't feel connected with the patriotic pride of earlier generations. Basically from mismanagement and promises broken with the mass force (the enlisted) officers as politicians still reap all the benifits and leave crumbs for the majority. IMO the only vets I see suffering are enlisted.

How about the attitudes towards the military in many movies and TV shows? M.A.S.H. for instance. The uptight rule loving obsessive-compulsives were not very well liked not by the audiences and not by the characters in the movie or TV show.
And I really doubt if many veterans from WWII were all that enamored of the patriotism put out by the military PR systems. They fought for their brothers in arms not the flag or the politicians waving them.

You are entitled to an opinion but do believe you either a) stand corrected or b) do not understand the all encompassing aura of the flag.

I should have said both apply.
