Looks like a great line up for September. Very happy to not see Brian Carl on the list. I hired Brian to perform at a party I had for my mom. It was my mom's last party that we put on for her so she could say hello to all her friends before she had to say goodbye. The one thing my mom loved was music and live performance. I confirmed with Brian multiple times including the day before that he would be there. Well he never called or showed and would not answer his phone the day of the party. We were devastated. It was my last gift to my mom. Days later I got a text from him with a sad song, so to speak, about why he did not show. Inexcusable and without saying what his personal issues are, let me say he is not reliable. He also stood up a man's 80th birthday in Spanish Springs that his daughter had organized and gotten a tent for, and he never called her either to say he was not coming. I know where he was that day as one of my friends knows him and told me-he made a personal choice of his own social life over his commitment. My mom died two weeks after her "Hello Before I Say Goodbye" party, I sure wished she could have had that last live performance that I promised her. She was on hospice and it took everything she had to get herself together to come, so if you ask why did I not just take her to the square another night, she just did not have the stamina, it took two of us to bring her in just to enjoy the event. So Brian Carl, when I look at him, I just see disappointment and disrespect, not talent. I would be thrilled to never see his name at any of the squares, and I am sure one day he will not show and that will be the end of his Villages spotlight.
