I have been searching the classifieds because my daughter and her three year old son are moving down here in a few weeks. Hubby and I have gotten them a nice apartment but we have to completely furnish it. I don't want to buy new because I know she will not stay here for more than a year or two and will not want to pay to have furniture shipped. We also don't want the expense of buying all new! When I look at the classifieds, so many of them do not have phone numbers or any way to contact the sellers. I thought it might be because the item has been sold but I find it happening on new postings. Is there another way to contact the sellers or am I missing something?

Trish it is so frustrating. I have been there. People need to post an email address in their ads. You can find the user name on the right side of the ad, copy it, click on your screen name, then go to member list in the top left corner, and send them an email.

Thank you! I'll try that.

Did you click on the buttons on the right? These usually bring up the email or phone number, they are not displayed unless you take the action.

You might try places like Nearly New Furnishings and a couple of other gently used furniture stores nearby. Or, check out estate sales. There was one recently in our neighborhood by Blessed and Grateful (I think) and everything for sale was listed on their website and they will sell furniture and bigger items before the sale. And you might try furniture rental companies like Aarons, those types of stores sell used furniture that is halfway decent.
Use your imagination and Google, you have alot of options.

By far one of the best furniture consignment shops in The Villages area is Bargains and Treasures. It is located off of 466 up near Oxford and 301. In a small strip mall. Their merchandise moves in and out very quickly so there is always something new every day. It is best to get there by 9:30 each morning to get first pick. You can also look out back as they are unloading the truck in the morning for the new items. There are two buildings now.

I have been searching the classifieds because my daughter and her three year old son are moving down here in a few weeks. I agree with Cassie's suggestion about Bargains and Treasures.
They have an amazing selection; they pick up daily from at least ten homes.
And they only pick up furniture in good condition, no junk.
It is much less frustrating than searching for individual pieces on classifieds, and often not getting a response.

I agree about Bargains and Treasures. We practically furnished our first home here with stuff from there including accessories and lamps. Also NEW mattresses are reasonable at Sams. We bought a couple there for the grandkids first apartment. I am trying to think what we have she might like.

You can try to PM the seller, but many don't respond. Craigslist is where to shop because the seller is required to post contact information...I am sure your daughter will enjoy finding some neat things to fit her personal style for her apartment.

I would also look in hospice behind McDonald on 441 and Goodwill by Walmart on 466 in Oxford.
