WE are PT villagers ( for now!) and I am curious about residents who add bird cages after they move into their house. I have tried to google birdcages in FLA and of course get nothing about screened cages only the feathered ones. My question is, who added your bird cage and aprrox what is the cost and are you happy you added it. Also, anything to watch out for, or you wish you would have done differently??? Is there a square foot type of pricing or does someone give you a strict quote. We have a huge yard that overlooks the "lake" ( Villages talk for a pond ) I keep thinking that adding a bird cage may be nice. So anyone with that experience who would like to tell me a little about having one of these would be great! Thank you in advance for any info...

Cost will be someplace between $20 and $30 a finished square foot. Depends on size, type of enclosure, terrain, added features, number of doors, etc. When your a buyer and a home already has a cage, add $20 a square foot to the value for comparison to homes without one.

Check with T&D Concrete, they do alot of them in The Villages.

T&D did my pool and birdcage and we too overlook a lake/pond? PM me if you would like to see it. Unlike the houses beside me, I had them step the pool down rather than a stem wall. I'm very pleased with the result.

I play a lot of golf here. Naturally, I pass many, many homes along the courses with beautiful lanais.... some with pools, spas etc. My wife and I constantly comment on how few people we ever see outside in the lanai.

T&D did my pool and lanai too. Extremely pleased with their work. We are always in our lanai..........:pepper2:

Our birdcage is a very unusual shape because of our lot angles. T&D made it look perfectly symmetrical . Here's another vote for T&D quality workmanship at a very competitive price.

Please click on the search botton (blue line above), and enter in birdcages.

You will find a wealth of information and recommendations. IMHO, using the TOTV Search Engine is far superior to using Google. You will obtain specific Villages information.

Does anyone know if there is a restriction on the distance a birdcage has to be from the fencing you have in your yard - if you are on a golf course.
