I've finally come out from the shadows after avidly following the happenings in TV over the past 3 months. I'd like to thank everyone for all the valuable information I've learned, and I'm excited to be coming for a one month stay starting April 1. Hoping to play lots of golf, championship and executive (hone the short game skills), pickleball? and get a good feel for the lifestyle before deciding if it's right for me. I'm single, renting in the (pre)historic section, with golf cart but no car (true villager)!
Anyone up for golf? Here in San Diego my handicap is 13, but my golf game is anything but consistent. I plan to attend the TOTV luncheon in April, but would like to meet some of you for golf.

Welcome to you. My husband is a decent golfer and I am sure he would like to play golf with you.

When you get here, PM me. My husband can arrange a game. It is about the same temperature here as it usually is in San Diego, but this place is a Paradise for grown ups of a certain age.

SD, how about some dancing in the squares. I don't play golf but we sure have a few single ladies that like to meet at the squares for dancing. Let me know if you would like to do a meet and greet and we can get some of the single guys and girls together at the square. Have a safe trip..

From one Californian to another, I'm sure you'll like it here. Not as nice as LaJolla but a lot cheaper and nicer people.

graciegirl,

Thanks for the welcome. I will pm you when I arrive re: golf.

kathieI,

Wow, you mean there are single ladies in TV? Who'd a thunk it? Meet and greet sounds great, count me in. Speaking of the weather, I must admit it is my biggest consideration about moving to central FL. My folks lived in Mid-Florida Lakes park in Leesburg (more like Eustis to me), and I was born and raised in Queens, so I have some experience with humidity. That's why I'm coming next month; to see what "shoulder" season is like. I know the winter months will be fine.

Ok, so you're pulling my leg, huh!!! Yes you will be casseroled to death... But not from my friends, most of us can't cook, lol.

My biggest concern also was leaving the SoCal weather for humid central Fl. However, as I said before, its such a different lifestyle that I'd rather live in TV and put up with humidity than live in Los Angeles and be lonely.

Keep in touch on your arrival plans and we'll do the meet and greet at one of the squares. I'm the expert on organizing them.. LOL. See you soon, we have a lot to chat about. Speaking of that, come on chat at night, we have a great time. We'll help you if you are a newbie, have no fear, we are nice peeps in there. You'll have a 3 hour advantage on us. We get in there around 10pm eastern time. Later, K.
