It would appear that Spanish Springs is getting a Papa Murphy's Take 'N' Bake Pizza. I have never been to one, but I have heard good reports.
Interesting concept. Either order a pizza from their menu or custom build your own version. Different sizes, different style crusts, including gluten-free, different sauces, all kinds of cheeses and toppings. Everything fresh. Nothing frozen. They build it. You take it home and bake it. And..... you can order it online. Might be just the thing you need for when the restaurants are packed.

We patronized one in Northern Kentucky. Not bad. We were surprised one night when an order was phoned in including anchovies and after opening the box we found a small tin of anchovies sitting on top of the pizza. No problem, after the pizza was baked we opened the tin with the key and put the anchovies on the hot pie. No guarantee that is how they still do it, but it was novel at the time.

Yes, they are good. Had them in Oklahoma and Illinois. See if they can be competitive here where lots eat out?

When I clicked on the link, it gave two addresses. One on Wedgewood Ln near CR 101, and one on Bichara Blvd in Lady Lake. These are miles apart. Are we getting two Papa Murphy's?

It looks like there will be one of these in the Spanish Springs Square area.

I really like Papa Murphy's pizza but it contributed to my significant weight gain several years ago. I've since lost the weight so the fact that they are moving closer to my home is disconcerting.

They make a nice pizza, and when you bake it at home.....couldn't be fresher.....no cardboard box taste.

Had a few pizza's where the box would probably have tasted better.

I'll chime in as well and say it's a great pizza...several kinds you can choose from as well.

I have to say that I'm bit skeptical hearing the name Murphy in front of the word pizza.

A friend of ours owns a Papa Murphy's franchise up north. The training the owners go through is extensive and ongoing, and they are the best pizzas!

doc: exactly my point as a son of Neapolitan parents I take exception to Murphy's Pizza as a form of cultural appropriations..that's what it is cultural appropriations you don't see me advertising rubicon's beef stew ....I do love beef stew:D bad golf day sorry :)

We had Papa Murphy's up north also, and we loved their thin crust pizzas!

You know, with all this talk about Papa Murphy's pizza, I'm so hungry for one that I'm going to take a ride up to Belleview tomorrow (Wednesday) and get one. :D

So to get that great crust are you using a pizza stone? Or just on the rack.

I think they are great pizza, and I get a very thin crust with healthier toppings. We had one in Alaska, and when I lived in Minneapolis, MN...

You would think the Villages would not put another pizza place in the same square..Sucks for the other guy. I guess he does not have a restrictive covenant in his lease...too bad

You bake them right on the cardboard that their pizza comes on, and this works great! Very tasty!
We need pizza down at the south end, the new Lake Deaton plaza maybe??

Before Flippers Pizza opened across from the Bowling Alley there was another pizza place there that we loved, Pauly's Pizza. We ate there everytime we went to SS. They were very busy and I believe they even wanted to take over the spot next door so they could expand. They weren't a fancy place inside, more like a neighborhood shopping center type shop. Anyway, TV wouldn't renew their lease and in came a shiny new pizza chain resturant, Flippers. We ate there once and never went back. I believe Pauly's owners now operate a breakfast place in Fruitland Park.
When we go to SS now we eat at Jersey Mike's, they have great subs. For the best pizza in the area, we found Sammy Joe's at Mulberry Plaza, we have to drive more than half an hour to get there, but it's worth it.

Pauly's was Tim Rohan's place. He's at Rae Rae's now in Fruitland Park. Yup, same Rohan family as John. The Pizza Joint was named after the other brother, Pauly (also owned the liquor store on 466).

That is right, Tim has told me about the Pizza place. His breakfast place on 441 is the best in the area. I know, I had breakfast there this morning.:icon_hungry:

We had several stores in new Ohio which closed. I really missed them. Great fresh pizza made in your own oven when you want it.
Where will they be located?

OK a question on names for choosing pizza,
Flippers...Bravo....NYPD ( They should be Arrested for impersonating Pizza )...Belleview...etc..get the picture.
It's the Dough, Sauce, Fresh Toppings, and type of Stone...It is Not the name.. It could be O'Hanlon's Pizza and be the Best Pizza this side of Brooklyn. :plane:

There is one on US 27/441 at the intersection of US 301 in Belleview. We have gotten pizza at that one several times and they all were good. This new one will be closer but still a good distance from us down here near SR 44. But worth the ride.

Wife and I love Papa Murphy's pizza and frequent the local store in Fairfax, VA. The PM pizza beats the biggies -- fresher, lots of choices, fast service and the price is right. Hope there'll be a store anywhere in TV.

Excellent pizza, the Cowboy pizza is our favorite followed closely by the Chicken Alfredo, the only kind of take home pizza that we ate. To bad it is so far North, as we live in Labelle, and it is geographically undesirable.
