I am thinking of getting a security camera set up for my home in the Villages. At the moment I am only able to be in the Villages a few months a year. I am not so worried about my homes security, I just want to see the view from my front door anytime I want. Anybody else share my feelings?

You can do that with a Ring Video Doorbell and the "Live View" feature.

We would like to have a security camera set up to see our home.
Not for security reasons, but just because we miss our home in The Villages.
We always wonder if the ponds in back of our home are empty or overflowing.
I think an active wifi service is required though.
We put Comcast on "traveller's ticket" when we're away, for a small monthly charge.

Look at the D-Link site. You will need internet service to your home and a WiFi net work. They have day and night camera. The camera will broadcast a picture over the internet that you can pick up for free with a D-Link account. It will also take pictures and email then to your email site when motion is detected. You should be able to do it under $100. Watch for sales on D-Link
Note the camera needs an electrical outlet. You can probably mount the camera someplace on the garage door frame and the wire will be able to be feed into the garage and then plugged into an outlet or extension cord. You could also add a camera to watch the front door. Probably still under 100 if you buy on sale.
