Have you tried Village Car Wash in La Plaza Grande? They do a pretty good job but be prepared to wait. For some reason they are quite slow even with a bunch of young people wiping down the cars.

What do they charge? I have a problem paying high prices for car washes, seems like it just gets dirty again very quickly! But then, why take a shower everyday???????:undecided:

I've been looking for a full service car wash that would vacuum a car and do a thorough job of cleaning. Do they clean inside and outside? What do they charge?

This from the POA web site. Could not find a web site for the the car wash.
Villages Car Wash and Lube - Bichara Blvd., La Plaza Grande Center, (352) 753-1306. $1.00 off the regular price of a silver or gold wash package.
There also is a car wash on the north side of Leesburg on 27/441.

There is a full service car wash in Belleview, about 6-8 miles north of Highway 42 on 441/27. It is on the east side of 441/27.

In response regarding cost. The Villages Car Wash charges $11.95 for a basic wash. This includes vacuuming the floors, machine wash, hand dry, cleaning the windows inside and out as well as wiping down the interior. There is a tip box for your convenience as all gratuities are shared.
Hope this info helps.

Sounds extremely reasonable to me. Thanks so much for the info.

There's a full service car wash in The Marion Markets on 441 North about 8 miles. Don't know what they charge and they are open only when the market is open, Winter time is Friday thru Sunday, the rest of the year is only Saturday and Sunday. Have them wash your car while you shop the Market.

I think they are very overpriced and found them to be unprofessional.

Are you allowed to wash your own car in your drive way?

Yes you can. However, they prefer you wash it in your yard so the soap, etc does not go into the storm drains. No one does it though. Before I get into trouble - I have never seen anyone wash their car in their yard - always in the driveway.

If this is the same one I used, it's about 10 miles north of TV and is right next to Sonny's BBQ.
They did a good detailing with hand waxing etc. for $29. Hard to beat.
I have used the Villages Car wash and the Catcus car wash in Ocala. Both do a good job inside and out. Catcus is better and a bid pricer the extra distance limits me to use them when I an up in Ocala.

Used The Villages Car Wash a couple of days ago. Will never return. Hadn't been washed for quite some time so I went for the top of the line - mistake...
Got out of the car 15 minutes later at Publix and there was a new light scratch on the side of the front right fender and water spots all the way down the side. My driveway has a new purpose in life....

We paid $28 in Woodbridge, Va., for the basic car wash where you got out of the car and it went through the wash and about 15 Hispanics dried it when it came out.
You had to pay about $95 for one where it got washed, vacuumed, windows washed and dried. I pay $10 in rural NC for the carwash at the convenience store where I sit in the car as the touchless system cleans the outside.
I think $11.95 is a steal. Thanks for the information. We've wondered about The Villages Car Wash. These are car prices, right. Not golf carts.

Do the car washes get the love-bugs off the cars?

One thing that you might find helpful is to use a good quality wax, at least on the front of your car during love bug season (May and Sept) . If you get them you need to get them off immediately rather than waiting to go the car wash (yes, they get them off). I use a spray and clean them off each night..it only takes a few minutes and you avoid damage to your paint. I think if they dry on your car they start to damage the paint within 24 to 48 hours.

I have had my car washed at Village Car Wash fairly frequently and find they are, in fact, very polite and competent and do a good job in the drying of the car which is important to me as I hate the streaking that occurs if not dried thoroughly. They do take a bit longer than most car washers, but they do a thorough job, even on the wheels.

I go with KK's Mobil Auto Detailing, 352-429-8991. They come to the house and do an excellent job. It is $20 and they will include a cart. I also have them do a clay bar wax on the cars once a year. I think that is $40.

Just had my car washed at Villages car wash yesterday and they did a very good job! If you get your oil changed there at the same time they will knock 10$ off the price of the car wash. And a free deoderizer, my car smells like Pina Coladas! ;)

What did they charge for the oil change and wash?
What kind of oil?
How long did it take?
Did you leave your car and come back at an estimated completion time?
