I think that is what we had done and saved several hundred on our homeowners insurance. I have Liberty Mutual and we were not charged for our test but my son was charged like $50.00 to have his done. He has insurance with State Farm. They looked at the roof, went into the attic to see how roof was tied in, checked windows, garage door, etc.

Call your insurance agent and see if your insurance offers a discount with the test. We have Travelers. Our insurance went from 800 to 1500 when they changed the rules about this. We paid $90 or so for our test so that we could get it done very quickly. There are free tests avail. Travelers gave us a 700 discount after our test!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is per year, not just a one time deal. You only need the inspection once though.

I had it done for free under "My Safe Florida Home" program.

It took a few hundred off my homeowners insurance.
