View Full Version : Name a good appliance store
We are planning on replacing all our current kitchen appliances. However, we thought we would shop around first. Unfortunately, we arrived back to a "dead" dishwasher! So a more immediate shopping is in order. The big box stores have all the models, but has anyone had a good experience with a smaller appliance store. One that caters to the customer and has some perks like free delivery, etc. Would appreciate any suggestions as to where to shop!

We purchased Speed Queen washer and dryer from Setzers in Ocala. Their delivery charge was reasonable even to Osceola Hills

We got appliances for our new house (refrigerator, stove, washing machine, dryer, and a 55-inch TV) at Best Buy. We had been looking at Home Depot and Lowes, but Best Buy had exactly what we wanted and the prices were lower.
The sales people at Best Buy were very good and very pleasant to work with.

Here are a few tips!
As far as dishwashers go Bosch is awesome! They are so quiet you can hardly tell they are running. They have stainless interiors. If you select a model without a handle you can choose any other brand for other appliances.
Now appliances have the best sales around Thanksgiving. You could replace the dishwasher now and stall a few more weeks for the rest of the appliances.
I suggest you ask for Judy at Best Buy. She is the most knowledgeable and helpful person there. Call and make sure she is on duty.
I also chose American made Speed Queen for my replacement washer and dryer. They now offer a 5 year parts and service warranty.

Hi, Sears is good and has good delivery. We understand that some good ones are in Ocala. We like Depot for some items, but they turn the delivery over to a real outfit and who knows when you might be able to get your damaged goods,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, NO way on delivery. WE have also found that BEST BUY IS REALLY WORST BUY.

The best bang for the buck is HH Gregg in Ocala. Take 75 off at 200 and turn left, Ask for the manager, his name is Dakota. Awesome selection and rock bottom prices. Did my entire kitchen for much less than expected and was totally satisfied with the product and service. This is only one persons opinion so check around and you will see it is one stop shopping.

Lowes and Home Depot both offer free delivery, and in most cases, the next day. We did our own research (I'd never trust a sales person) and bought a washer and dryer from Lowes. Excellent, free installation.

As you can see, there are no small appliance stores around here. We enjoyed one when we were in PA but they are becoming a think of the past. They disappear because everyone is going to the big box stores. Even if you find one, it would be questionable how long they will be around. Another small business being killed off by the big box stores and we help them do that, price shopping is the driver. Won't be long the big box stores will start to disappear as we all move to online. As our generation helped kill off the small businesses, the next generations will kill off the brick and morter stores.

Pretty soon we will be like people in the 1800's, where people ordered most things from the Sears and Roebuck catalog.

We replaced our washer and dryer earlier this year, bought them at Home Depot and that went really smooth.
Now we are replacing all our kitchen appliances, and we are getting them all from Best Buy, since they had what we wanted and their pricing was very good. We have bought appliances from Best Buy before and it always went well. They were supposed to deliver all today, but moved delivery to next Wednesday due to the weather. When we placed the order some weeks ago, Bosch had a deal where the dishwasher install was included, but not sure if that perk is still available.
Just about all the stores have free delivery if you buy over a certain dollar amount.

Hi, we used Bormans for some lightly used stuff and Sears is good. We do not recommend Home Depot due to the misrepresentation on the delivery, a nightmare, they turn delivery over to the most incompetent and sloppy group. Really a bummer.

I prefer Lowes because deliver using their own truck and employees, and you have 30 days to return it, even if you find cosmetic defects. Home Depot requires that you accept the product immediately upon delivery, with no returns.

We recently purchased a house also in Osceola Hills :), and I started looking for dealers that carry Speed Queen washers/dryers as that is the choice of my parents. Glad to know there is a semi-close dealer. Is there a sales person that you would recommend at Setzers? Thanks.

Our sales person was named Ray. I don't remember his last name. He is the store manager. Setzer's carries most major brands of appliances, but we were looking specifically for Speed Queen washer and dryer. I did a google search for dealers that carried Speed Queen prior to even moving down here. Setzer's had the best price and beat both the price and the delivery charge of a dealer in Clermont for the models we wanted.
