I just quit century link at the end of Aug. huge price raise for internet only....my 25mbps service went from $40 to $82 a month....so after I turned in my equipment and thought I paid my final bill I receive a final bill of $12.85 for "shutting off the service" I have never heard of that one before...well I immediately went on and shut off my old auto pay... I don't think I will be paying that bill btw I now have Comcast with 75 mbps for $40 a month

75 mbps is called Blast as of January 1, 2016 regular price is $79.95/mo, wireless gateway $10/mo. After one year of your introductory price you can look for a price greater than above because it will increase in 2017.

Good luck with comcast. You will find they will do the same as century link.

My CenturyLink internet service is $35/month (including all taxes and fees) for 40 megabits/sec download and 20 megabits/sec upload. You can always call them up and ask for the "new customer" rate once you get beyond the initial contract period (and I am way beyond the initial contract period).

I friend of ours had Century Link a few years ago and discontinued it during the trial period. Guess what, they turned his account over to a collection agency. It took him months to resolve. Don't ignore the disconnection fee as you may find it in collection. Suggest you confront them about it. Good luck
