Golf cart flats in TV???

Whom do you call?

We were talking about this at Doggie Doo Run Run today and no one seemed to have a very good answer except that someone mentioned a guy has a service that will come to you in this even.

Anyone heard of this service?

It did not sound like you could just call AAA as these vehicles probably would not be covered by AAA and how do you direct AAA to get onto the golf course or wherever to help you out?

If flats are a major problem in TV, maybe the obvious solution would be to carry a spare and small jack. If there is no room for a spare, why not just buy a fifth wheel and keep it at home. Should one get a flat it would not be that difficult to get a ride home, pick up the car and jack and change the tire. I really don't believe that flats are that major a problem though.

I would suggest checking your insurance coverage. Our cart coverage with Progressive includes road service with an 800 number to call. The cart must be within 100 feet of a road, which could be an issue on golf courses but I am sure it would not be a problem to get towed to a nearby road if needed.

I belong to "24 Hr. Cart Club" which is like AAA for golf carts. It's owned and run by Dylan Galbreath who is a Sumter County Deputy Sheriff. Annual membership fee is very reasonable. They will either make the repair, take you and your cart home or take you to a local repair facility of your choice.

Thanks to the TV tire rules for golf courses, I have two spares in my garage. A few months ago, I went to get in the cart to go play golf and I had a flat (k2at - they do happen). I told the other two to go ahead and get our tee time and I changed the tire and was on my way in 10 minutes - and made the tee time.

I think the "24 hr car club" is an excellent alternative to AAA. I do not know the price but I think it is reasonable.

BTW: I did call AAA when a friend had a flat and they do not do carts.

I've heard really good things about the 24-hour cart service. However, when a client's cart had a flat (a nail in the tire), the only solution I could come up with for the renters was to use some Fix-It Flat and then have them drive it over to Tire World by Wal-Mart on 466. Worked great! Not only did Tire World fix the flat, there was no charge. So, the flat was fixed for $4.91.

If you do go the foam method, be sure to drive the cart immediately so that the foam doesn't harden in just one spot and try to not use too much since it makes it very difficult to fix the flat if there's too much "goop". However, it is a great emergency fix.
